Given the importance of biotechnology in shaping relations between the state, science, the economy, and the citizenry, a book that explores the Canadian biotechnology regime and its place in our democracy is timelier than ever.Three Bio-Realms provides the first integrated examination of the thirty-year story of the democratic governance of biotechnology in Canada. G. Bruce Doern and Michael J. Prince, two recognized specialists in governance innovation and social policy, look at particular 'network-based' factors that seek to promote and to regulate biotechnology inside the state as well as at broader levels. Unmatched by any other book in its historical scope and range, Three Bio-Realms is sure to be read for years to come.Studies in comparative political economy and public policy.BiotechnologyGovernment policyCanadaHistoryBiotechnologyGovernment policyCanadaBiotechnologyCanadaElectronic books.BiotechnologyGovernment policyHistory.BiotechnologyGovernment policyBiotechnology338.4/766060971Doern G.Bruce995737Prince Michael J311264DE-B1597DE-B1597BOOK9910462233103321Three Bio-Realms2281639UNINA03241nam 2200613 450 991079668580332120200917021826.01-5015-0290-51-5015-0288-310.1515/9781501502880(CKB)3890000000006026(MiAaPQ)EBC4517743(DE-B1597)453383(OCoLC)979581315(DE-B1597)9781501502880(Au-PeEL)EBL4517743(CaPaEBR)ebr11209831(CaONFJC)MIL919701(OCoLC)949883234(PPN)202014460(EXLCZ)99389000000000602620160524h20162016 uy 0engurcnu||||||||rdacontentrdamediardacarrierIoannis Canani de Constantinopolitana obsidione relatio a critical edition, with english translation, introduction, and notes of John Kananos' account of the Siege of Constantinople in 1422 /edited by Andreas Massimo CuomoBoston, [Massachusetts] ;Berlin, [Germany] :De Gruyter,2016.©20161 online resource (182 pages, 6 unnumbered pages of plates) illustrationsByzantinisches Archiv,1864-9785 ;Band 301-5015-1090-8 Includes bibliographical references.Frontmatter -- Foreword -- Contents -- Works cited in abbreviation -- 1. New research on the manuscripts has produced a new stemma codicum and shown that the oldest witness of this narrative, Vat. gr. 579 (ff. 355r - 364v), was written in Constantinople and belonged to the prolific scribe Phlamules Kontostephanos, who also provided the copy with a title in which the name of John Kananos is mentioned for the first time. The philological approach adopted here explains contradictions among the manuscripts and Kananos' peculiar vernacularisms and reveals a surprisingly realistic and elaborate Greek. The accompanying English translation, a chapter on the language of Kananos, and a complete thesaurus make this volume a valuable contribution to the study of late Byzantine literature.Byzantinisches Archiv ;Band 30.Military art and scienceIstanbul (Turkey)HistoryEarly works to 1800Byzantine and Ottoman History.John Kananos.Medieval Greek.Warfare.Military art and science.949.5040924Cananus Joannesactive 15th century.1244545Cuomo Andreas MassimoMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910796685803321Ioannis Canani de Constantinopolitana obsidione relatio2886942UNINA01420nam0 22003251i 450 UON0049331620231205105341.81420190308d1921 |0itac50 bagerFRODE|||| |||||CligésKristian von TroyesTextausgabe mit Variantenauswahl, Einleitung und Anmerkungen herausgegeben von Wendelin Foerster4. verkürzte Aufl.besorgt von Alfons HilkaHalleSaaleMax Niemeyer1921LXVIII, 229 p.20 cm.Dono Prof. Alberto Varvaro.IT-UONSI F.
