But he was also an artist, horse-trader, member of a prominent East India Company family, and everyday citizen, whose identity was formed during his colonial upbringing in India and England. As a creator of Imperial culture, he supported the great men and women of history while he painted, wrote about and photographed the scenes around him. In terms of naked power he was a middle man, perhaps even a small man. His empire is an intensely personal place, a vast network of family and friends from every quarter of the British imperial world, engaged in the common tasks of making a home and a career, while framing new identities, new imaginings and new relationships with each other, indigenous peoples and fellow colonists. This book traces Henry Prinsep’s life from India to Western Australia and shows how these texts and images illuminate not only Prinsep the man, but the affectionate bonds that endured despite the geographic bounds of empire, and the historical, social, geographic and economic origins of Aboriginal and colonial relationships which are important to this day.ANU Lives Series in BiographyColonial administratorsAustraliaWestern AustraliaBiographyhenry prinsepaustraliahistoryaboriginalEnglandIndiaKolkataLondonPerthWestern AustraliaColonial administrators910.4509034Allbrook Malcolm802898Welbourn NicMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQUkMaJRUBOOK9910135398303321Henry Prinsep's Empire1804181UNINA02195nas 2200601-a 450 99633671250331620240413030855.0(CKB)991042744537342(CONSER)sn-83000633-(EXLCZ)9999104274453734219830330a19839999 --- aengtxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierOutlook[Seattle, Wash.] Program for the Introduction and Adaptation of Contraceptive Technology (PIACT), Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH)[1983-1 online resourceRefereed/Peer-reviewedTitle from cover.Published in English and French, and is available in Spanish, Chinese, and Portuguese.Print version: Outlook (Seattle, Wash. : 1983) 0737-3732 (DLC)sn 83000633 (OCoLC)9360452 Out lookOutlookContraceptionPeriodicalsContraceptivesPeriodicalsBirth controlDeveloping countriesPeriodicalsContraceptionhttps://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D003267Contraceptive Agentshttps://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D003270Contraceptive Deviceshttps://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D003273Birth controlfast(OCoLC)fst00833148Contraceptionfast(OCoLC)fst00876819Contraceptivesfast(OCoLC)fst00876856Developing countriesfastPeriodicalsPeriodicals.fastPeriodicals.lcgftContraceptionContraceptivesBirth controlContraceptionContraceptive AgentsContraceptive DevicesBirth control.Contraception.Contraceptives.Program for the Introduction and Adaptation of Contraceptive Technology (U.S.)Program for Appropriate Technology in Health.JOURNAL996336712503316exl_impl conversionOutlook974374UNISA01243nam0 22003131i 450 UON0047530220250601091735.99688-87231-63-X20170320d2000 |0itac50 baitaIT|||| |||||L' immortalitàLudwig Feuerbacha cura di Marco VanzulliMilanoMimesis2000206 p.17 cmTit. orig.: Die Unsterblichkeitsfrage vom Standpunkt der Anthropologie, Über meine Gedanken über Tod und Unsterblichkeit, Nachträgliche Bemerkungen.Antropologia e filosofiaUONC022423FIUomo e ambiente socialeUONC043599FIITMilanoUONL000005128Genere umano21FeuerbachLudwig AndreasUONV1384400VanzulliMarcoUONV198721MimesisUONV245946650ITSOL20250606RICASIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOUONSIUON00475302SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOSI FS 2.0 0027 SI 21712 5 0027 Immortalità1472051UNIOR
