The most prominent effect of global climate change in the region is the melting sea ice in the Arctic Ocean, which enables a multitude of ocean uses to be initiated and extended, such as shipping, fishing and oil and gas extraction. Unlike in the Antarctic, there is currently no single comprehensive legal regime for governance of the Arctic. Instead, the region is regulated by a patchwork of international treaties, above all the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), various regional and sub-regional agreements, national laws and soft-law agreements. This treatise provides an evaluation of the governance regime that regulates the use of the Arctic marine environment and its readiness to protect these fragile ecosystems in light of the consequences of climate change.Hamburg Studies on Maritime Affairs, International Max Planck Research School for Maritime Affairs at the University of Hamburg,1614-2462 ;27Law of the seaInternational lawEnvironmental law, InternationalEnvironmental lawEnvironmental policyClimatic changesLaw of the Sea, Air and Outer Spacehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/R19060International Environmental Lawhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/R19070Environmental Law/Policy/Ecojusticehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/U16002Climate Change Management and Policyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/314000Law of the sea.International law.Environmental law, International.Environmental law.Environmental policy.Climatic changes.Law of the Sea, Air and Outer Space.International Environmental Law.Environmental Law/Policy/Ecojustice.Climate Change Management and Policy.341.45091632Weidemann Lillyauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1229929MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910483155303321International Governance of the Arctic Marine Environment2854983UNINA01272nam0 22003011i 450 UON0043282220231205104915.17783-904499-0-020131108d1996 |0itac50 bapolENGPL|||| 1||||Uczmy sie polskiegoLet's learn PolishWladislaw Miodunka[Dialogi Ilona Lepkowska]WarszawaPolska fundacja upowszechniania nauki19962 v.ill.20 cm.UON00432860Let's learn PolishLingua polaccaConversazioneUONC064781FIPLWarszawaUONL000573491.85LINGUA POLACCA21MIODUNKAWladyslawUONV170403686400LEPKOWSKAIlonaUONV219096Polska Fundacja Upoweszechniania NaukiUONV280874650ITSOL20250912RICAUON00432822SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOSI D 0371/1 SI 7095 7 0371/1 SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOSI D 0371/2 SI 7096 7 0371/2 Uczmy sie polskiego1336536UNIOR
