Even if they knew what ancient monuments looked like, they deliberately distorted the representation of them in print. Deciphering the printed reconstructions of Giacomo Lauro and Athanasius Kircher, this pioneering study uncovers an antiquity born with print culture itself and from the need to accommodate competitive publishers, ambitious patrons and powerful popes. By analysing the elements of fantasy in Lauro and Kircher's archaeological visions, new levels of meaning appear. Instead of being testimonies of failed archaeology, they emerge as complex architectural messages responding to moral, political, and religious issues of the day. This book combines several histories - print, archaeology, and architecture - in the attempt to identify early modern strategies of recovering lost Rome. Many books have been written on antiquity in the Renaissance, but this book defines an antiquity that is particularly Baroque.MonumentsRomeHistoriographyArchitecture, RomanHistoriographyAntiquariansEuropeHistory17th centuryPrintingSocial aspectsEuropeHistory17th centuryHistoriographyPolitical aspectsEuropeHistory17th centuryCivilization, BaroqueEuropeRomeAntiquitiesHistoriographyEuropeIntellectual life17th centuryMonumentsHistoriography.Architecture, RomanHistoriography.AntiquariansHistoryPrintingSocial aspectsHistoryHistoriographyPolitical aspectsHistoryCivilization, Baroque937.0072/04Tschudi Victor Plahte1075257UkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910136615403321Baroque antiquity2584271UNINA02361nam 2200361 450 991077472990332120230222081713.0(CKB)5720000000108123(NjHacI)995720000000108123(EXLCZ)99572000000010812320230222d2022 uy 0engur|||||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierBlended learning environments to foster self-directed learning /Donnavan Kruger [and nine others][Place of publication not identified] :AOSIS,2022.1 online resource (344 pages)1-77634-239-9 This book on blended learning environments to foster self-directed learning highlights the focus on research conducted in several teaching and learning contexts where blended learning had been implemented and focused on the fostering of self-directed learning. Several authors have contributed to the book, and each chapter provides a unique perspective on blended learning and self-directed learning research. From each chapter, it becomes evident that coherence on the topics mentioned is established. One of the main aspects drawn in this book, and addressed by several authors in the book, is the use of the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework when implementing teaching and learning strategies in blended learning environments to foster self-directed learning. This notion of focusing on the CoI framework is particularly evident in both theoretical and empirical dissemination presented in this book. What makes this book unique is the fact that researchers and peers in varied fields would benefit from the findings presented by each chapter, albeit theoretical, methodological or empirical in nature - this, in turn, provides opportunities for future research endeavours to further the narrative of how blended learning environments can be used to foster self-directed learning.EducationBlended learningEducation.Blended learning.370Kruger Donnavan1277980NjHacINjHaclBOOK9910774729903321Blended learning environments to foster self-directed learning3012334UNINA01059nam0 22002891i 450 UON0039287920231205104620.821978-75-334-5294-020110523d2010 |0itac50 bachiCN|||| 1||||Lu Xun zhuanLin Fei, Liu Zaifu zhuFuzhouFujian jiaoyu chubanshe20102, 2, 433 p.22 cmLu XunBiografieUONC078293FICNFuzhouUONL000289CIN VI BACina - Letteratura moderna e contemporanea - TestiALIN FeiUONV202091705528LIU ZaifuUONV148909688987Fujian Jiaoyu ChubansheUONV255168650ITSOL20250620RICASIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOUONSIUON00392879SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOSI CIN VI BA 1081 N SI SA 129457 7 1081 N Lu Xun zhuan1350933UNIOR
