More everyday ritual and practice - the preparation of food in the home - has been overlooked. Food in Ancient Judah explores both the archaeological remains and ancient Near Eastern sources to see what they reveal about the domestic gastronomical daily life of ancient Judahites within the narratives of the Hebrew Bible. Beyond the findings, the methodology of the study is in itself innovative. Biblical passages that deal with domestic food preparation are translated and analysed. Archaeological findings and relevant secondary resources are then applied to inform these passages. Food in Ancient Judah reflects both the shift towards the study of everyday life in biblical studies and archaeology and the huge expansion of interest in food history - it will be of interest to scholars in all these fields.Bible world (London, England)Food in the BibleFoodReligious aspectsJudaismJewsDietary lawsFood in the Bible.FoodReligious aspectsJudaism.JewsDietary laws.221.8/6413Shafer-Elliott Cynthia1975-,1583201UkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910787670503321Food in ancient Judah3866110UNINA01177nam0 22002891i 450 UON0026108220231205103712.33620050204d1962 |0itac50 bafreFR||||0 |||||Histoires extraordinairesEdgar Poe ;[Préface et traduction de Charles Baudelaireintroduction et notes par Léon Lemonnier]ParisGarnier1962XXXVI, 335 p., 4 c. di tav.19 cm.001UON001725662001 Classiques Garnier210 ParisGarnier FrèresFRParisUONL002984819Letteratura americana21POEEdgar AllanUONV0053367382BAUDELAIRECharlesUONV021538LEMONNIERLèonUONV116784Garnier FrèresUONV254608650ITSOL20240220RICASIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOUONSIUON00261082SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOSI Francese C.G POE 02 SI SFR243 7 02 Histoires extraordinaires519288UNIOR
