Dionysos and dionysia in Frogs.Athenian comic drama was written for performance at festivals honouring the god Dionysos. Through dramatic action and open discourse, poets sought to engage their rivals and impress the audience, all in an effort to obtain victory in the competitions. This book uses that competitive performance context as an interpretive framework within which to understand the thematic interests shaping the plots and poetic quality of Aristophanes' plays in particular, and of Old Comedy in general. Studying five individual plays from the Aristophanic corpus as well as fragments of other comic poets, it reveals the competitive poetics distinctive to each. It also traces thematic connections with other poetic traditions, especially epic, lyric, and tragedy, and thereby seeks to place competitive poetics within broader trends in Greek literature.Aristophanes & the Poetics of CompetitionGreek drama (Comedy)History and criticismGreek drama (Comedy)History and criticism.882/.01Biles Zachary P.1968-1057272UkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910460120003321Aristophanes and the poetics of competition2492425UNINA01122nam0-2200313---450 99000991740040332120241004134116.0000991740FED01000991740(Aleph)000991740FED0120141117d1954----km-y0itay50------baitaITaf------001yyIndirizzi produttivi della trasformazione agraria nel mezzogiornoatti del primo convegno tecnico(Bari 10 - 11 luglio 1954)Cassa per opere straordinarie di pubblico interesse nell'Italia meridionaleRomaIstituto poligrafico dello Stato1954232 p., 3 c. di tav.ill.24 cmAgraria338.123itaCassa per opere straordinarie di pubblico interesse nell'Italia meridionale287783ITUNINARICAUNIMARCBK990009917400403321U 7/163653DINGEA AGR 126213417/2024FAGBCDINGEFAGBCIndirizzi produttivi della trasformazione agraria nel mezzogiorno831386UNINA01391nam0 22003011i 450 UON0021650120231205103356.19188-18-56002-620030730d1989 |0itac50 baitaIT|||| 1||||Prediche volgari sul Campo di Siena, 1427Bernardino da Sienaa cura di Carlo Delcorno MilanoRusconi1989. 2 v. ; 22 cm V. 1.: Prediche 1.-25.
