In this volume are brought together diverse and interesting instances of his polymathic career, none before republished and some previously unpublished.Neatly framing Mill’s writing career are his editorial prefaces and extensive notes to Jeremy Bentham;s Rationale of Judicial Evidence (1827) and James Mill’s Analysis of the Phenomena of the Human Mind (1869). Both demonstrate his extraordinary powers of mind and diligence as well as his fealty. His constant avocation, field botany, is shown in his botanical writings, which open a window on an almost unknown activity that sustained and delighted him. Brief comments on two medical works hint at another interest. Two articles of which he was co-author demonstrate his work as editor of the London and Westminster Review, and a calendar of his contributions to the Political Economy Club provides yet another glimpse into his chosen activities and concerns. Published for the first time are Mill’s English and French wills, providing still further biographical detail.Collected Works of John Stuart Mill;XXXIPhilosophy of mindBotanyMiscellaneaPhilosophy of mind.Botany128.2Mill John Stuart1806-187367964Robson John M.MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910819558303321Miscellaneous writings966778UNINA01707nam 2200565 a 450 99624793820331620240104030431.00-231-05994-92027/heb00904(CKB)1000000000396166(dli)HEB00904(SSID)ssj0000084366(PQKBManifestationID)11123562(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000084366(PQKBWorkID)10164370(PQKB)10897541(MiU)MIU01000000000000003602799(EXLCZ)99100000000039616620020522d1986 uy 0engurmnummmmuuuutxtccrIslam assembled the advent of the Muslim congresses /Martin KramerNew York Columbia University Press19861 online resource (xi, 250 p. )Includes index.Bibliography: p. 227-242.ACLS Humanities E-Book.ISLAM ASSEMBLEDIslam20th centuryRegions & Countries - Asia & the Middle EastHILCCHistory & ArchaeologyHILCCMiddle EastHILCCIslamic countriesPolitics and governmentMiddle EastHistory1517-IslamRegions & Countries - Asia & the Middle EastHistory & ArchaeologyMiddle East909/.097671Kramer Martin S563753American Council of Learned Societies.MiUMiUBOOK996247938203316Islam assembled3656348UNISA01662nam0 22003491i 450 UON0003833920231205102134.59809-06-30800-320020107d1978 |0itac50 baengARAGB|||| 1||||Kitab al-aginna li-buqrat.
