Page.Economics and the social sciences are, in fact, the "hard" sciences, as Herbert Simon argued, because the complexity of the problems dealt with cannot simply be reduced to analytically solvable models or decomposed into separate subprocesses. Nevertheless, in recent years, the emerging interdisciplinary "sciences of complexity" have provided new methods and tools for tackling these problems, ranging from complex data analysis to sophisticated computer simulations. In particular, advanced methods developed in the natural sciences have recently also been applied to social and economic problems. The twenty-one chapters of this book reflect this modern development from various modeling perspectives (such as agent-based models, evolutionary game theory, reinforcement learning and neural network techniques, time series analysis, non-equilibrium macroscopic dynamics) and for a broad range of socio-economic applications (market dynamics, technological evolution, spatial dynamics and economic growth, decision processes, and agent societies). They jointly demonstrate a shift of perspective in economics and the social sciences that is allowing a new outlook in this field to emerge.EconomicsMathematical modelsEconomics, MathematicalElectronic books.EconomicsMathematical models.Economics, Mathematical.330/.01/51Schweitzer Frank463853MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910451683903321Modeling complexity in economic and social systems250801UNINA03234nam 2200673Ia 450 991114334630332120260415134957.09783110877106311087710410.1515/9783110877106(CKB)2670000000251274(EBL)936686(OCoLC)843635461(SSID)ssj0000560289(PQKBManifestationID)11338103(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000560289(PQKBWorkID)10586707(PQKB)11060597(MiAaPQ)EBC936686(WaSeSS)Ind00012701(DE-B1597)55038(OCoLC)979592880(DE-B1597)9783110877106(Au-PeEL)EBL936686(CaPaEBR)ebr10598229(Perlego)654407(EXLCZ)99267000000025127419910712d1991 uy 0engurnn#---|u||utxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierTowards a feminist critical reading of the Gospel according to Matthew /Elaine Mary WainwrightReprint 2010Berlin ;New York De Gruyter19911 online resource (xxiii, 410 pages) illustrationsBeihefte zur Zeitschrift fur die neutestamentliche Wissenschaft und die Kunde der alteren Kirche,0171-6441 ;Bd. 60Originally presented as the author's thesis (Ph. WomenBiblical teaching.225.6 s226.2/06/082BC 7550rvkWainwright Elaine Mary1948-2024.MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9911143346303321UNINA
