The authors describe a step-by-step methodology, going from logic gates to logic paths to the circuit level. Topics are presented in comprehensively, without overwhelming use of analytical formulations. Emphasis is placed on providing digital designers with understanding of the sources of process variations, their impact on circuit performance and tools for improving their designs to comply with product specifications. Various circuit-level “design hints” are highlighted, so that readers can use then to improve their designs. A special treatment is devoted to unique design issues and the impact of process variations on the performance of FinFET based circuits. This book enables readers to make optimal decisions at design time, toward more efficient circuits, with better yield and higher reliability.Frontiers in Electronic Testing,0929-1296 ;39Electronic circuitsMicroprocessorsElectronicsMicroelectronicsCircuits and Systemshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T24068Processor Architectureshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/I13014Electronics and Microelectronics, Instrumentationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T24027Electronic circuits.Microprocessors.Electronics.Microelectronics.Circuits and Systems.Processor Architectures.Electronics and Microelectronics, Instrumentation.621.381Champac Victorauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1062007Garcia Gervacio Joseauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autBOOK9910299951203321Timing Performance of Nanometer Digital Circuits Under Process Variations2521983UNINA03685nam 22004933 450 991100841450332120241116060244.097817761422001776142209(CKB)4100000008770595(VLeBooks)9781776142200(MiAaPQ)EBC31778955(Au-PeEL)EBL31778955(OCoLC)1109783548(Perlego)1077269(EXLCZ)99410000000877059520241116d2018 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierDeath and Compassion The Elephant in Southern African Literature1st ed.Johannesburg :Wits University Press,2018.©2018.1 online resource (280 p.)Front Cover -- Title -- Copyright -- Contents -- Acknowledgements -- Introduction: Compassion for elephants? -- 1. They were virtually extirpated from much of Africa by European hunters in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, but their numbers resurged for a while in the heyday of late-colonial conservation efforts in the twentieth. Now, according to one estimate, an elephant is being killed every 15 minutes. This is at the same time that the reasons for being especially compassionate and protective towards elephants are now so well-known that they have become almost a cliché: their high intelligence, rich emotional lives including a capacity for mourning, caring matriarchal societal structures, that strangely charismatic grace. Saving elephants is one of the iconic conservation struggles of our time. As a society we must aspire to understand how and why people develop compassion - or fail to do so - and what stories we tell ourselves about animals that reveal the relationship between ourselves and animals. This book is the first study to probe the primary features, and possible effects, of some major literary genres as they pertain to elephants south of the Zambezi over three centuries: indigenous forms, early European travelogues, hunting accounts, novels, game ranger memoirs, scientists' accounts, and poems. It examines what these literatures imply about the various and diverse attitudes towards elephants, about who shows compassion towards them, in what ways and why. It is the story of a developing contestation between death and compassion, between those who kill and those who love and protect.Elephants in literatureSouthern African literature (English)Wildlife conservation in literatureElephants in literature.Southern African literature (English)Wildlife conservation in literature820.9968Wylie Dan696563MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9911008414503321Death and Compassion4394397UNINA04916nam 22007575 450 991025499180332120230810131507.09783319291062978331929104810.1007/978-3-319-29106-2(MiAaPQ)EBC5588113(MiAaPQ)EBC6315006(Au-PeEL)EBL5588113(OCoLC)949923519(DE-He213)978-3-319-29106-2(PPN)194077535(CKB)3710000000718248(EXLCZ)99371000000071824820160509d2016 u| 0engurnn#008mamaatxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierEthics in Computing A Concise Module /by Joseph Migga Kizza1st ed. 2016.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2016.1 online resource (XV, 276 p. 17 illus., 5 illus. in color.)Undergraduate Topics in Computer Science,2197-1781Includes index.Morality and the Law -- Ethics and Ethical Analysis -- Ethics and the Professions -- Anonymity, Security, Privacy, and Civil Liberties -- Intellectual Property Rights and Computer Technology -- Social Context of Computing -- Software Issues: Risks and Liabilities -- Computer Crimes -- Cyberbullying -- New Frontiers for Computer Ethics: Artificial Intelligence -- Ethical, Privacy and Security Issues in Social Network Ecosystems -- Elastic Extension Beyond the Traditional Computer Network: Mobile Systems and Intractable Social, Ethical and Security Issues.Highlighting the important need for a strong ethical framework in our computer, information and engineering science education, this engaging textbook raises thought-provoking questions regarding our rapidly-evolving computing technologies and the ever-changing communication ecosystems with which they are associated.
