It addresses the gap in essential leadership qualities--such as communication, emotional intelligence, ethics, teamwork, and other right-brain skills --by providing a roadmap for technical professionals to develop these crucial competencies. Drawing on recent employer surveys and decades of experience, it highlights the importance of skills beyond technical knowledge and demonstrates how to apply them effectively in real-world settings. This resource introduces the challenges faced by emerging technical professionals, illustrated with real-life scenarios."--Title details screen.Artech House technology management and professional development libraryEngineeringVocational guidanceEngineeringManagementLeadershipEngineeringVocational guidance.EngineeringManagement.Leadership.Bennett Ronald J.1823331Millam ElaineMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9911006709803321The engineer's guide to authentic leadership4389922UNINA03987nam 22006735 450 991030052790332120200629114918.03-030-01482-710.1007/978-3-030-01482-7(CKB)4100000007110970(MiAaPQ)EBC5583519(DE-He213)978-3-030-01482-7(PPN)232468842(EXLCZ)99410000000711097020181102d2018 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierQuantum Confined Excitons in 2-Dimensional Materials /by Carmen Palacios-Berraquero1st ed. 2018.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2018.1 online resource (125 pages)Springer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,2190-50533-030-01481-9 Introduction -- 2D-Based Quantum Technologies -- Experimental Techniques -- Deterministic Arrays of Single-Photon Sources -- Atomically-Thin Quantum Light Emitting Diodes -- 2D Quantum Light-Matter Interfaces -- Conclusions and Outlook. This book presents the first established experimental results of an emergent field: 2-dimensional materials as platforms for quantum technologies, specifically through the optics of quantum-confined excitons. It also provides an extensive review of the literature from a number of disciplines that informed the research, and introduces the materials of focus – 2d Transition Metal Dichalcogenides (2d-TMDs) – in detail, discussing electronic and chemical structure, excitonic behaviour and response to strain. This is followed by a brief overview of quantum information technologies, including concepts such as single-photon sources and quantum networks. The methods chapter addresses quantum optics techniques and 2d-material processing, while the results section shows the development of a method to deterministically create quantum dots (QDs) in the 2d-TMDs, which can trap single-excitons; the fabrication of atomically thin quantum light-emitting diodes to induce all-electrical single-photon emission from the QDs, and lastly, the use of devices to controllably trap single-spins in the QDs –the first step towards their use as optically-addressable matter qubits.Springer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,2190-5053Quantum computersSpintronicsQuantum opticsOptical materialsElectronicsMaterialsSurfaces (Physics)Interfaces (Physical sciences)Thin filmsQuantum Information Technology, Spintronicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P31070Quantum Opticshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P24050Optical and Electronic Materialshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Z12000Surface and Interface Science, Thin Filmshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P25160Quantum computers.Spintronics.Quantum optics.Optical materials.ElectronicsMaterials.Surfaces (Physics)Interfaces (Physical sciences)Thin films.Quantum Information Technology, Spintronics.Quantum Optics.Optical and Electronic Materials.Surface and Interface Science, Thin Films.621.38152Palacios-Berraquero Carmenauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1065355BOOK9910300527903321Quantum Confined Excitons in 2-Dimensional Materials2544824UNINA
