Tales procesos de movilidad afectan el resto de la vida de los migrantes y sus subsecuentes generaciones. En ese contexto, este trabajo examina detenidamente cómo las condiciones migratorias diaspóricas y transnacionales se vinculan a los discursos identitarios. Esto, a la vez que se demuestra cómo todas las condiciones anteriormente mencionadas son conceptos y procesos fundamentalmente espaciales. No solamente al ser producidos y reproducidos mediante prácticas y dinámicas espaciales, sino también al ser sensibles a estas. Tales dinámicas de la movilidad humana son exploradas y examinadas por medio de la experiencia puertorriqueña y sus patrones migratorios, específicamente mediante el caso reciente de la aún en formación comunidad puertorriqueña en la zona metropolitana de Orlando, Florida, en los Estados Unidos de América.
