Developing and Maintaining Heritage Languages --References --Appendixes --Author Index --Subject IndexImmigrant parents are frequently advised by teachers, doctors and speech therapists to stop speaking the native language at home so as not to confuse children with input from two languages. However, this view is not supported by empirical linguistic and social evidence. This book sheds light on some of the common myths around being bilingual and explores the processes of dual language development among Korean children growing up in the United States. The book sensibly argues that the bilingualism of linguistic minority children is a resource to be cultivated, not a problem to be overcome. In addition, it explores various educational, social and economic pressures which hamper intergenerational transmission of heritage languages, and discusses factors that contribute to successful bilingual raising of children in spite of these pressures. A welcome addition to the growing literature on bilingual development, this book offers useful suggestions for parents, teachers and policy makers who are interested in promoting the development and maintenance of bilingual competence in linguistic minority children.Child language and child development ;5.Bilingualism in childrenUnited StatesKorean American childrenLanguageBilingual competence .Bilingual development.Bilingualism.Child language development.Dual language development .English.Heritage languages.Korean.Linguistic minority.Bilingualism in childrenKorean American childrenLanguage.404/.2/08309073Shin Sarah J.1970-1208714MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910783775303321Developing in two languages3869790UNINA02610nam 22006015 450 991098333210332120241229115258.09783031749094303174909X10.1007/978-3-031-74909-4(MiAaPQ)EBC31862523(Au-PeEL)EBL31862523(CKB)37095379600041(DE-He213)978-3-031-74909-4(EXLCZ)993709537960004120241229d2025 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierTheorems for Electrical Circuits Theory and Solved Problems /by Alfonso Bachiller Soler, Ramón Cano González, Miguel Angel González Cagigal1st ed. 2025.Cham :Springer Nature Switzerland :Imprint: Springer,2025.1 online resource (208 pages)Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering,1876-1119 ;4859783031749087 3031749081 This book focuses on the practical application of specific theorems in solving electrical circuits. Specifically, it covers the theorems of Superposition, Thevenin, Norton, and Maximum Power Transfer. The theory is kept concise, yet all the necessary concepts are explained, and plentiful problems are solved in detail. A vast amount of figures is used for a more effective learning. All in all, this book helps undergraduate and graduate students to develop the necessary skills to solve a broad range of transient exercises. It offers a unique complementary text to classical electric circuit textbooks, for students and self-study, as well.Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering,1876-1119 ;485Electronic circuitsComputer networksEngineering mathematicsElectronic Circuits and SystemsComputer NetworksEngineering MathematicsElectronic circuits.Computer networks.Engineering mathematics.Electronic Circuits and Systems.Computer Networks.Engineering Mathematics.621.3815Bachiller Soler Alfonso1623549Cano González Ramón1786187González Cagigal Miguel Angel1786188MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910983332103321Theorems for Electrical Circuits4317575UNINA
