Conclusion."As someone who has had the privilege of supporting Dr. Sonya Sharififard throughout her research, I can say with confidence that this book is the result of her passionate commitment to shedding light on the challenges that students face in accessing nutritious food. An insightful and thoroughly researched examination of food insecurity on college campuses, this book is essential reading for educators, policymakers, and anyone who is dedicated to fostering equitable educational environments and inspiring action towards meaningful and informed solutions." —Farzin Madjidi, EdD Dean, Graduate School of Education and Psychology, Professor of Leadership Pepperdine University This book explores food accessibility and its relationship to food security in communities representing high populations of college and university students. Each chapter offers readers a vivid and multifaceted perspective on food practices' cultural and social complexities and the current food system. Using insights from the multidisciplinary fields of food studies, educational leadership, and human geography, this book engages the global paradoxes of food. Food is individual and community-based, and students participating in school activities and extracurriculars must often choose between affording books or food. Each chapter begins with a case study and ends with suggested resources and activities. Chapter topics include academic success, identity and belonging, groceries, food media, public health, marketing, surplus and scarcity, and social impact. The book further blends concepts and empirical accounts to address the central issues of culture, structure, and accessibility within and among the food retail environment. Sonya Sharififard is Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University, USA. Her research explores leadership development and global food systems. She presents at major international conferences and contributes to leading associations in North America, Europe, and Asia, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the Academy of Management (AOM), and the International Leadership Association (ILA).Education and stateSociologyNutritionFoodFood securityFood scienceEducationResearchEducation PolicySociology of Food and NutritionFood SecurityFood StudiesEducational Policy and PoliticsEducational ResearchPolítica educativathubSeguretat alimentàriathubLlibres electrònicsthubEducation and state.Sociology.Nutrition.Food.Food security.Food science.EducationResearch.Education Policy.Sociology of Food and Nutrition.Food Security.Food Studies.Educational Policy and Politics.Educational Research.Política educativaSeguretat alimentària379Sharififard Sonya1781554MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910919810803321Community, Food Insecurity, and a Global Perspective on Campus Food Pantries4306407UNINA03701oam 2200601 c 450 991097477110332120251102090541.03-8382-7506-39783838275062(MiAaPQ)EBC6803234(Au-PeEL)EBL6803234(CKB)19410481000041(OCoLC)1285783429(ibidem)9783838275062(EXLCZ)991941048100004120251102d2021 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierBetween Lenin and Bandera Decommunization and Multivocality in Post-Euromaidan Ukraine /Anna Kutkina, Andreas Umland, Juri Mykkänen1st ed.Hannoveribidem20211 online resource (329 pages)Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics and Society231Print version: Kutkina, Anna Between Lenin and Bandera Berlin : Ibidem Verlag,c2021 Intro -- Preface -- Acknowledgements -- Introduction -- 1. In the following months, in what became known as the “Leninfall,” Ukraine swept away hundreds of communist monuments, expressing an explicit desire to break away from the Soviet past and, implicitly, from Russia. This book examines the evolution of post-Euromaidan de-Sovietization beyond the issues of toppling of old statues and implementation of new anti-totalitarian laws. It explores decommunization as both a political and cultural phenomenon that exposes the multivocality of the Ukrainian population and involves various forms of dialogical interaction between ordinary citizens and the state. Posters, graffiti, or street names are physical and discursive canvases where old meanings are being contested and re-articulated, and where new political symbols that combine nationalist and democratic elements are being defined.Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics and SocietyDecommunizationDekommunisierungEuromaidanMultivocalityMultivokalitätUkraineDecommunizationDekommunisierungEuromaidanMultivocalityMultivokalitätUkraine947.7Kutkina Annaaut1673487Umland AndreasDr.edtMykkänen JuriauiMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910974771103321Between Lenin and Bandera4037604UNINA
