First, it is based on a very large and recent database, covering 165 countries from 1981 to 2012. Second, it conducts a robustness analysis across different estimation techniques. Third, the empirical search is expanded by including potential saving determinants identified by theory but not previously considered in the empirical literature. Fourth, the paper explores differences in saving behavior nesting the 2008-10 crisis period and four different country groups. Finally, it also searches for commonalities and differences in behavior across national, private, household, and corporate saving rates. The results confirm in part existing research, shed light on some ambiguous or contradictory findings, and highlight the role of neglected determinants. Compared to the literature, we find a larger number of significant determinants of saving rates, using different estimators, for different periods and country groups, and for different saving aggregates.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2014/204Saving and investmentConsumption (Economics)Savings accountsExports and ImportsimfMacroeconomicsimf'Panel Data ModelsimfSpatio-temporal Models'imfMacroeconomics: ConsumptionimfSavingimfWealthimfFiscal Policies and Behavior of Economic Agents: GeneralimfAggregate Factor Income DistributionimfPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their DistributionsimfEmpirical Studies of TradeimfInternational economicsimfPrivate savingsimfIncomeimfPersonal incomeimfConsumptionimfTerms of tradeimfSaving and investmentimfEconomicsimfEconomic policyimfnternational cooperationimfNternational cooperationimfPanel Data ModelsimfSpatio-temporal ModelsimfSaving and investment.Consumption (Economics)Savings accounts.Exports and ImportsMacroeconomics'Panel Data ModelsSpatio-temporal Models'Macroeconomics: ConsumptionSavingWealthFiscal Policies and Behavior of Economic Agents: GeneralAggregate Factor Income DistributionPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their DistributionsEmpirical Studies of TradeInternational economicsPrivate savingsIncomePersonal incomeConsumptionTerms of tradeSaving and investmentEconomicsEconomic policynternational cooperationNternational cooperationPanel Data ModelsSpatio-temporal Models339.43Grigoli Francesco1127643Herman Alexander1815933Schmidt-Hebbel Klaus58385DcWaIMFBOOK9910974289603321World Saving4371558UNINA00828nas 2200277zu 450 99670348260331620260119151905.0(CKB)44976196200041(DE-599)ZDB3233758-9(EXLCZ)994497619620004120260119cuuuuuuuu || |engur|||||||||||Аграрный вестник Северного КавказаRussian Federation: Stavropol State Agrarian University2949-4796 animal breedingveterinary medicinesoil scienceagronomyhorticulturenorth caucasusJOURNAL996703482603316Аграрный вестник Северного Кавказа4542217UNISA
