Panel (System GMM) regressions: The effect of developmental aid on growthWe analyze the growth impact of official development assistance to developing countries. Our approach is different from that of previous studies in two major ways. First, we disentangle the effects of two kinds of aid: developmental and non-developmental. Second, our specifications allow for the effect of aid on economic growth to occur over long periods. Our results indicate that developmental aid promotes long-run growth. The effect is significant, large and robust to different specifications and estimation techniques.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2009/118Economic assistanceDeveloping countriesEconomic developmentDeveloping countriesAid flowsimfBilateral aidimfDevelopment assistanceimfEconomic assistanceimfExports and ImportsimfForeign AidimfForeign aidimfIncomeimfInternational economicsimfInternational reliefimfMacroeconomicsimfPersonal incomeimfPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their DistributionsimfCongo, Democratic Republic of theimfEconomic assistanceEconomic developmentAid flowsBilateral aidDevelopment assistanceEconomic assistanceExports and ImportsForeign AidForeign aidIncomeInternational economicsInternational reliefMacroeconomicsPersonal incomePersonal Income, Wealth, and Their Distributions332.1/52Reddy Sanjay602369Minoiu Camelia874355International Monetary Fund.IMF Institute.DcWaIMFBOOK9910970778003321Development Aid and Economic Growth4371371UNINA
