Il procedimento permette di ottenere disegni elaborati, costituiti da singoli punti e linee con spessore minimo 5 µm (0,19 mil). L’inchiostro in TPU sporge di 3 o 4 µm (0,12 e 0,16 mil) dalla superficie del tessuto. La superficie in rilievo e la composizione dell’inchiostro al poliuretano aumentano la durevolezza e accrescono la resistenza all’abrasione del tessuto. Un processo di stampa proprietario deposita il poliuretano sulla superficie del tessuto, producendo un disegno in rilievo. I supporti adatti includono le fibre a base di cellulosa come il cotone, la viscosa (rayon per il mercato USA) e il triacetato, ma anche il poliestere. L’altezza del tessuto non può superare i 140 cm (55 in) ma la lavorazione è completamente personalizzabile per quanto riguarda la scelta del tessuto, il colore della stampa e il disegno.
