Bridging the gap between theory and practice in international human rights law and policy, the contributors continue discussions that were begun with the late Argentine philosopher-lawyer Carlos Santiago Nino, then extend those conversations in new directions inspired by their own and Nino's work. The book focuses on some of the key questions that confront the international human rights movement today. What is the moral justification for the concept and content of universal human rights? What is the relationship among nation-building, constitutionalism, and democracy? What are the political implications for a conception of universal human rights? What is the relationship between moral principles and political practice? How should a society confront what Kant called radical evil? And how does a successor regime justly and practically hold a prior regime accountable for gross violations of human rights?Deliberative democracy & human rightsDemocracyDemocracyUnited StatesHuman rightsHuman rightsUnited StatesRepresentative government and representationDemocracy.DemocracyHuman rights.Human rightsRepresentative government and representation.323Koh Harold Hongju1954-240790Slye Ronald1812031MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910958456203321Deliberative democracy and human rights4364279UNINA02254aam 2200385 n 450 991087476410332120250618102223978838220442583-8220-573-9(CKB)4900000001098276(ceeol)ceeol1021692(CEEOL)1021692(EXLCZ)99490000000109827620252218d2021 ||l |polFinansjalizacja wybranych rynków surowcowych na świecieMarcin ZłotyŁódź [Poland] Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego20211 online resource (1 p. 162)Uniwersytet Łódzki83-8220-572-0 Financialization transforms the existing rights, directions and rules of functioning of many levels of the economy, including the commodity market. The activity of investors in the futures market from the beginning of the 21st century began to determine the trends in prices of commodities. Implementation of solutions and instruments of the financial market to the structure of the commodity market is the contemporary dimension of the financialization of this area. The study covered the impact of financial investors on the commodity futures market on the development of spot prices of five analyzed assets – gold, silver, copper, WTI crude oil and natural gas. The analysis of the impact of the futures market factors on the current market, carried out using the Granger causality method, is aimed at determining the order of interactions between both levels of trading. The current trends and transformations of the commodity market show the constant transformation of the entire world economy, which is becoming increasingly dependent on financial systems and instruments.
