In the areas where peasant agriculture was the predominant form of production, changes in the land tenure system paved the way for a modern system of private property relations. A new class differentiation emerged and the indigenous chiefs turned into powerful landowners. In addition to this, new light is shed on the dynamics of caste formation as a result of the early colonial encounter.TANAP monographs on the history of the Asian-European interaction ;v. 9.Land tenureSri LankaHistory18th centurySri LankaRural conditions18th centuryElectronic books.Land tenureHistory306.3/4909549315.75bclDewasiri Nirmal Ranjith872245MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910453095103321The adaptable peasant1947490UNINA03206oam 2200541zu 450 991087748930332120210807004017.00-470-77888-10-470-77225-50-470-77236-010.1002/9780470772256(CKB)2500000000001623(SSID)ssj0000398395(PQKBManifestationID)11292737(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000398395(PQKBWorkID)10362177(PQKB)11491670(NjHacI)992500000000001623(EXLCZ)99250000000000162320160829d1989 uy engur|||||||||||txtccrThe Chemistry of Double-Bonded Functional Groups: Supplement A.
