By systematically examining the development of power dynamics in Asia-Pacific, it challenges the notion that a wealthier and militarily more powerful China is automatically turning the regional tides in its favour. With a special emphasis on Sino-US competition, the book explores the alleged linkage between the regional distribution of relevant material and immaterial capabilities, national power and the much-cited regional power shift. The book presents a novel concept for measuring power in international relations by outlining a composite index on aggregated power (CIAP) that includes 55 variables for 44 regional countries and covers a period of twenty years. Moreover, it develops a middle power theory that outlines the significance of middle powers in times of major power shifts. By addressing political, military and economic cooperation via a structured-focused comparison and by applying a comparative-historical analysis, the book analyses in depth the bilateral relations of six regional middle powers to Washington and Beijing. .Global Power Shift,2198-7343International relationsAsia—Politics and governmentAsia—Economic conditionsUnited States—Politics and governmentInternational Relationshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/912000Asian Politicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/911110Asian Economicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W45010US Politicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/911180International relations.Asia—Politics and government.Asia—Economic conditions.United States—Politics and government.International Relations.Asian Politics.Asian Economics.US Politics.327Fels Enricoauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut960391MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910255300103321Shifting Power in Asia-Pacific2177099UNINA01853oam 2200481zu 450 991087275300332120241212214827.0(CKB)111026746709370(SSID)ssj0000445298(PQKBManifestationID)12128033(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000445298(PQKBWorkID)10485018(PQKB)11665881(EXLCZ)9911102674670937020160829d1994 uy engtxtccr1994 International Integrated Reliability Workshop final report : Stanford Sierra Camp, Lake Tahoe, California, October 16-19, 1994[Place of publication not identified]IEEE Electron Devices Society1994Bibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph9780780319080 0780319087 Integrated circuitsReliabilityCongressesIntegrated circuitsReliabilityCongressesWafer scale integrationElectrical & Computer EngineeringHILCCEngineering & Applied SciencesHILCCElectrical EngineeringHILCCIntegrated circuitsReliabilityCongresses.Integrated circuitsReliabilityCongressesWafer scale integration.Electrical & Computer EngineeringEngineering & Applied SciencesElectrical Engineering621.3815/2IEEE Reliability SocietyIEEE Electron Devices SocietyInternational Integrated Reliability WorkshopPQKBBOOK99108727530033211994 International Integrated Reliability Workshop final report : Stanford Sierra Camp, Lake Tahoe, California, October 16-19, 19942524679UNINA
