Für sie blieb die Assimilation mit den christlichen Untertanen die Vorbedingung für eine rechtliche Emanzipation. Auch in der zweiten Reformphase (1808-1812), den Vorarbeiten zum preußischen Emanzipationsedikt von 1812, votierten die Offiziere nicht für den aktiven Militärdienst der Juden in Preußen.
