Objectives and Research Method -- Chapter 3. Analysis and Discussion of the Survey Data -- Chapter 4. Proposals for addressing School Violence -- Appendix: Research Instruments. This brief presents a new approach to the study of bullying and prejudice in school settings, analyzing the particularities of these two forms of violence and relating them to the hierarchies that distinguish students based on academic performance and popularity. Analyzing data gathered by surveys carried out between 2010 and 2014 with 274 students from public schools of São Paulo, Brazil, the authors show that, despite bullying and prejudice are related, they have specific characteristics that need to be acknowledged in order to help educators develop more efficient initiatives to prevent them. Building upon the Critical Theory of Society – especially Adorno’s studies of authoritarian personality and school hierarchies – the authors develop a theoretical framework that helps researchers and educators to identify the particularities of bullying and prejudice and develop specific strategies to deal with them. In addition, the empirical and theoretical elements presented in the book show how these forms of violence are related to the two hierarchies that exist side by side in schools – the official hierarchy that distinguishes good and bad students based on their academic performance and the unofficial hierarchy characterized by the distinction between those who excel in dating, fighting, in team sports and those who do not excel in any of these activities. This innovative volume: • Argues that bullying and prejudice are different forms of school violence that demand different theoretical and practical approaches • Examines data gathered by surveys carried out with 274 students of public schools in São Paulo, Brazil, between 2010 and 2014 • Relates bullying and prejudice to the hierarchies that distinguish students based both on their academic performance and popularity • Analyzes the impact of factors such as autonomy from the school authority and the ideology of authoritarianism on bullying and prejudice • Presents strategies to fight bullying and prejudice in schools Bullying, Prejudice and School Performance: A New Approach is a useful and innovative tool for psychologists, educators, sociologists, school teachers and researchers in the fields of child and school psychology, educational psychology, sociology of education and related disciplines. .SpringerBriefs in School Psychology,2520-8918Child psychologySchool psychologyEducationChildrenAdolescenceDevelopmental psychologyEducational sociologyEducational sociologyChild and School Psychologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Y12040Education, generalhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/O00000Childhood, Adolescence and Societyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X22090Developmental Psychologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Y20010Sociology of Educationhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X22070Child psychology.School psychology.Education.Children.Adolescence.Developmental psychology.Educational sociology.Educational sociology.Child and School Psychology.Education, general.Childhood, Adolescence and Society.Developmental Psychology.Sociology of Education.371.7820981Crochick José Leonauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut766718Crochick Nicoleauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910165155003321Bullying, Prejudice and School Performance2257550UNINA04518nam 22005895 450 991086656860332120250724153240.09783031597336(electronic bk.)978303159732910.1007/978-3-031-59733-6(MiAaPQ)EBC31497559(Au-PeEL)EBL31497559(CKB)32320327400041(DE-He213)978-3-031-59733-6(EXLCZ)993232032740004120240619d2024 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierSustainable Energy A Myth or Reality /by Hassan Qudrat-Ullah1st ed. 2024.Cham :Springer Nature Switzerland :Imprint: Springer,2024.1 online resource (238 pages)The Springer Series in Sustainable Energy Policy,2524-5597Print version: Qudrat-Ullah, Hassan Sustainable Energy Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2024 9783031597329 Introduction: What, Why, and How of Sustainable Energy -- Myth: Renewable Energy is too Intermittent to be Reliable? -- Myth: Renewable energy is too expensive to be affordable? -- Myth: Renewable Energy is Too Disruptive to be Feasible? -- Reality Current State of Sustainable Energy -- Successful Sustainable Energy Projects -- Challenges and Barriers for the Transition to Sustainable Energy -- Future Prospects and Emerging Technologies -- The Path Forward for Transition to Sustainable Energy -- Conclusion and Personal Remarks about Sustainable Energy. This book embarks on a transformative journey through the complex landscape of renewable energy, challenging prevailing myths and uncovering the realities that define our energy future. But for filmmaker Darren Wilson, his life of cultural Christianity changed radically when a powerful encounter with God led him to begin making films that attempted to display the God of the Bible in living color. What happened over the next ten years has affected millions around the world, and has set fires ablaze in hearts that have long sat dormant. God Adventures is an honest and compelling book about the events surrounding the making of these powerful films (Finger of God, Furious Love, Father of Lights, Holy Ghost, and Holy Ghost Reborn), and is designed to take you into a deeper, more fulfilling and, yes, riskier relationship with God. Like Darren's films, this book focuses on:God's miraculous power and overpowering love.A Father desperately pursuing His children. The often misunderstood third Person of the Trinity and His relationship to the modern believer.God's dominance over other gods and supernatural powers. How the Holy Spirit wants to use everyone to bring change and healing to the world, not just professional ministers.Christianity was never meant to be a social club--it was meant to change the world. God Adventures provides biblical insight for the supernatural occurrences documented in Darren's films, along with behind-the-scenes stories that will inspire, engage, and challenge you to not settle for less than experiencing all of God.SupernaturalGenerated by AIMiraclesGenerated by AISupernaturalMiraclesWilson Darren1436689MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910136840503321God Adventures3595840UNINA
