The book proposes explanations for this, ranging from the wholly rational to the irrational, and analyzes different factors in decision-making, such as the intention of the decision-maker, the environment in which their decision is made or the process leading to decision-making. While the common belief is that everything in an industrial environment stems from reasoned decisions, analysis of common practice shows that this is not always the case. This book offers an original perspective by presenting the decision making mechanism from the point of view of the decision maker and their handling of a specific decision-making problem. To learn more about the decision-maker's motivations when faced with these situations, the authors provide a review of the history of decisionmaking and the major trends in decision-making theory. The concepts and methods are presented with illustrations based on the use of an MES, an industrial management software package.Work environmentIndustrial locationIndustrial EngineeringSystems EngineeringTechnology & EngineeringWork environment.Industrial location.613.62Berrah Lamia1604109Clivillé VincentMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910830091503321Decision and decision-maker in an industrial environment3928795UNINA05024nam 22005893 450 991098461460332120231110233531.09780271082998027108299210.1515/9780271082998(CKB)5140000000010498(MiAaPQ)EBC6894981(Au-PeEL)EBL6894981(OCoLC)1309048214(DE-B1597)584298(OCoLC)1269268333(DE-B1597)9780271082998(MiAaPQ)EBC31784104(Au-PeEL)EBL31784104(OCoLC)1472990704(EXLCZ)99514000000001049820220412d2018 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierPolemical Encounters Christians, Jews, and Muslims in Iberia and Beyond1st ed.Basel/Berlin/Boston :Pennsylvania State University Press,2018.©2019.1 online resource (434 pages)Iberian Encounter and Exchange, 475-1755 ;v.29780271081212 027108121X 9780271082974 0271082976 Frontmatter -- Contents -- Illustrations -- Acknowledgments -- Introduction -- Part I. Focusing on polemics—works that attack or refute the beliefs of religious Others—this volume aims to challenge the problematic characterization of Iberian Jews, Muslims, and Christians as homogeneous groups. From the high Middle Ages to the end of the seventeenth century, Christian efforts to convert groups of Jews and Muslims, Muslim efforts to convert Christians and Jews, and the defensive efforts of these communities to keep their members within the faiths led to the production of numerous polemics. This volume brings together a wide variety of case studies that expose how the current historiographical focus on the three religious communities as allegedly homogeneous groups obscures the diversity within the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim communities as well as the growing ranks of skeptics and outright unbelievers. Featuring contributions from a range of academic disciplines, this paradigm-shifting book sheds new light on the cultural and intellectual dynamics of the conflicts that marked relations among these religious communities in the Iberian Peninsula and beyond. In addition to the editors, the contributors are Antoni Biosca i Bas, Thomas E.
