Econometric ResultsThis article uses two analytical methodologies to understand the dynamics of inflation in Paraguay, the mark-up theory of inflation and the monetary theory of inflation. We also study the impact of different monetary aggregates. The results suggest that monetary factors, in particular currency in circulation, play a major role in determining long-run inflation, while foreign prices, in particular from Brazil, or some food products have a large impact on the short-term dynamics of inflation. Wage indexation may also contribute to locking up price increases.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2008/270Inflation (Finance)ParaguayEconometric modelsDemand for moneyParaguayEconometric modelsForeign ExchangeimfInflationimfMacroeconomicsimfMoney and Monetary PolicyimfPrice LevelimfDeflationimfMonetary SystemsimfStandardsimfRegimesimfGovernment and the Monetary SystemimfPayment SystemsimfDemand for MoneyimfMonetary economicsimfCurrencyimfForeign exchangeimfCurrenciesimfConsumer price indexesimfDemand for moneyimfExchange ratesimfPricesimfMoneyimfPrice indexesimfBrazilimfInflation (Finance)Econometric models.Demand for moneyEconometric models.Foreign ExchangeInflationMacroeconomicsMoney and Monetary PolicyPrice LevelDeflationMonetary SystemsStandardsRegimesGovernment and the Monetary SystemPayment SystemsDemand for MoneyMonetary economicsCurrencyForeign exchangeCurrenciesConsumer price indexesDemand for moneyExchange ratesPricesMoneyPrice indexes332.41Monfort Brieuc1629081Peña Santiago1629082DcWaIMFBOOK9910827080503321Inflation Determinants in Paraguay3966596UNINA
