Indeed, it appears to be all but a truism to assume that ADR has developed as a more flexible and creative alternative to rigid and formalised judicial proceedings. In Formalisation and Flexibilisation in Dispute Resolution scholars from four continents examine both historical and recent developments that cast doubt on the validity of these widespread assumptions. They not only explore trends towards an increased formalisation of ADR procedures but also address the tendencies of state civil justice systems to adopt flexible and informal tools for the resolution of disputes in the courts. Editors Joachim Zekoll, Moritz Bälz and Iwo Amelung have divided the book into three Parts. Part One seeks to develop the general theme of formalisation from several angles, including a socio-legal perspective, the public-private divide, the regulatory challenges and potential tensions with the rule of law. The emphasis of Part Two is on the historical emergence of formal and informal dispute resolution instruments in several legal and cultural contexts. Historical roots, be they genuine or construed, also play a role in the other two parts of the book, but in this part, they take centre stage. Finally, Part Three features chapters which address and elaborate on specific applications such as ADR as means of consumer dispute resolution and arbitration in transnational investment disputes. While the contributions to the first two parts of this volume already raise normative questions in some respects, this final part evaluates and passes judgement on the potential merits and deficits of ADR in a variety of specific settings.Dispute resolution (Law)CongressesDispute resolution (Law)347/.09Zekoll JoachimBälz MoritzAmelung IwoMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910825779203321Formalisation and flexibilisation in dispute resolution4023273UNINA03606nam 22006495 450 991035035000332120200707001121.0981-13-9471-710.1007/978-981-13-9471-3(CKB)4100000009451849(DE-He213)978-981-13-9471-3(MiAaPQ)EBC5897451(PPN)244236704(EXLCZ)99410000000945184920190916d2019 u| 0engurnn|008mamaatxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierCancer Genetics and Therapeutics Focus on Phytochemicals /by Madhumita Roy, Amitava Datta1st ed. 2019.Singapore :Springer Singapore :Imprint: Springer,2019.1 online resource (XVI, 227 p. 47 illus., 20 illus. in color.) 981-13-9470-9 Chapter 1: Cancer: Types and hallmarks -- Chapter 2: Cancer: genetics and important pathways -- Chapter 3: Fundamentals of phytochemicals -- Chapter 4: Drugs and phytochemicals -- Chapter 5: Molecular mechanisms of phytochemical actions in cancer -- Chapter 6: Improvement of cancer therapy using phytochemicals -- Chapter 7: Pharmacogenomics and phytochemicals -- Chapter 8: Phytochemicals as bioenhancers -- Appendix I -- Appendix II -- Index. The book discusses cancer and the potential use of phytochemicals as cancer therapeutics. It begins with the basics of cancer, including the definition, types, etiology and molecular mechanisms involved, before discussing the fundamentals of diagnosis, treatment and associated problems as well as remedial measures. Since cancer is not a single disease, and the mechanisms of carcinogenesis are different for different cancers, it examines the genes and proteins involved in carcinogenesis, and signal transduction pathways for each individual cancer type. Further, the book reviews the latest research on phytochemicals for cancer treatment, highlighting their anti-cancer properties, sources, structure, active biomolecules and probable mechanisms of action, and describing their biochemical properties in the context of cancer prevention and treatment.CancerResearchOncologyPharmacologyGene expressionRadiologyCancer Researchhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/B11001Oncologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H33160Pharmacology/Toxicologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/B21007Gene Expressionhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/B12010Diagnostic Radiologyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H29013CancerResearch.Oncology.Pharmacology.Gene expression.Radiology.Cancer Research.Oncology.Pharmacology/Toxicology.Gene Expression.Diagnostic Radiology.614.5999Roy Madhumitaauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut872807Datta Amitavaauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/autMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910350350003321Cancer Genetics and Therapeutics1948501UNINA
