Tomson and Joshua Schwartz. The papers in this volume are organized around the ambition to reboot the writing of history about Jews and Christians in the first two centuries CE. Many are convinced of the need for a new perspective on this crucial period that saw both the birth of rabbinic Judaism and apostolic Christianity and their parting of ways. Yet the traditional paradigm of Judaism and Christianity as being two totally different systems of life and thought still predominates in thought, handbooks, and programs of research and teaching. As a result, the sources are still being read as reflecting two separate histories, one Jewish and the other Christian. The contributors to the present work were invited to attempt to approach the ancient Jewish and Christian sources as belonging to one single history, precisely in order to get a better view of the process that separated both communities. In doing so, it is necessary to pay constant attention to the common factor affecting both communities: the Roman Empire. Roman history and Roman archaeology should provide the basis on which to study and write the shared history of Jews and Christians and the process of their separation. A basic intuition is that the series of wars between Jews and Romans between 66 and 135 CE – a phenomenon unrivalled in antiquity – must have played a major role in this process. Thus the papers are arranged around three focal points: (1) the varieties of Jewish and Christian expression in late Second Temple times, (2) the socio-economic, military, and ideological processes during the period of the revolts, and (3) the post-revolt Jewish and Christian identities that emerged. As such, the volume is part of a larger project that is to result in a source book and a history of Jews and Christians in the first and second centuries.Compendia Rerum Iudaicarum ad Novum Testamentum13.JewsRomeHistory70-638JudaismItalyRomeHistory70-638JudaismHistoryTalmudic period, 10-425ChristiansRomeHistory70-638Church historyPrimitive and early church, ca. 30-600JudaismRelationsChristianityChristianity and other religionsJudaismHistoryPhilosophyRomeHistoryEmpire, 30 B.C.-284 A.DJewsHistoryJudaismHistoryJudaismHistoryChristiansHistoryChurch historyJudaismRelationsChristianity.Christianity and other religionsJudaism.HistoryPhilosophy.933/.05Tomson Peter J.1948-Schwartz JoshuaMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910824399803321Jews and Christians in the first and second centuries3980890UNINA02836nam 22004333 450 991016390240332120230810002111.01-4967-0739-7(CKB)3710000001055979(MiAaPQ)EBC5816758(Au-PeEL)EBL5816758(OCoLC)1102123801(EXLCZ)99371000000105597920210901d2017 uy 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierDeath by Chocolate Lab1st ed.New York :Kensington Books,2017.©2017.1 online resource (202 pages)Lucky Paws Petsitting Mystery ;v.11-4967-0738-9 Intro -- Title Page -- Copyright Page -- Table of Contents -- Chapter 1 -- Chapter 2 -- Chapter 3 -- Chapter 4 -- Chapter 5 -- Chapter 6 -- Chapter 7 -- Chapter 8 -- Chapter 9 -- Chapter 10 -- Chapter 11 -- Chapter 12 -- Chapter 13 -- Chapter 14 -- Chapter 15 -- Chapter 16 -- Chapter 17 -- Chapter 18 -- Chapter 19 -- Chapter 20 -- Chapter 21 -- Chapter 22 -- Chapter 23 -- Chapter 24 -- Chapter 25 -- Chapter 26 -- Chapter 27 -- Chapter 28 -- Chapter 29 -- Chapter 30 -- Chapter 31 -- Chapter 32 -- Chapter 33 -- Chapter 34 -- Chapter 35 -- Chapter 36 -- Chapter 37 -- Chapter 38 -- Chapter 39 -- Chapter 40 -- Chapter 41 -- Chapter 42 -- Chapter 43 -- Chapter 44 -- Chapter 45 -- Chapter 46 -- Chapter 47 -- Chapter 48 -- Chapter 49 -- Chapter 50 -- Chapter 51 -- Chapter 52 -- Chapter 53 -- Chapter 54 -- Chapter 55 -- Chapter 56 -- Chapter 57 -- Chapter 58 -- Chapter 59 -- Chapter 60 -- Chapter 61 -- Chapter 62 -- Chapter 63 -- Chapter 64 -- Chapter 65 -- Chapter 66 -- Chapter 67 -- Chapter 68 -- Chapter 69 -- Chapter 70 -- Chapter 71 -- Chapter 72 -- Chapter 73 -- Chapter 74 -- Chapter 75 -- Chapter 76 -- Recipes -- DIAL MEOW FOR MURDER -- Notes."Pet sitter Daphne Templeton has a soft spot for every stray and misfit who wanders into the quaint, lakeside village of Sylvan Creek.
