In addition, it underlines the fact that the substance of ethics in general and bioethics/healthcare ethics specifically, is much more expansive and inclusive than is usually thought. Bioethics is a relatively new academic discipline. However, ethics has existed informally since before the time of Hippocrates. The indigenous culture of African peoples has an ethical worldview which predates the western discourse. This indigenous ethical worldview has been orally transmitted over centuries. The earliest known written African text containing some concepts and content of ethics is the “Declaration of Innocence” written in 1500 B.C., found in an Egyptian text. Ubuntu is an example of African culture that presents an ethical worldview. This work interprets the culture of Ubuntu to explain the contribution of a representative indigenous African ethics to global bioethics. Many modern scholars have written about the meaning of Ubuntu for African societies over centuries. Some scholars have viewed Ubuntu as the greatest contribution of African cultures to other world cultures. None of the scholars, however has explored the culture of Ubuntu as providing a representative indigenous ethics that can contribute to global bioethics as discussed in this book.Advancing Global Bioethics,2212-652X ;1EthicsMedical ethicsCulture—Study and teachingEthicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/E14000Theory of Medicine/Bioethicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H66000Regional and Cultural Studieshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/411000Ethics.Medical ethics.Culture—Study and teaching.Ethics.Theory of Medicine/Bioethics.Regional and Cultural Studies.174.957Chuwa Leonard Tumainiauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1229620MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910484511503321African Indigenous Ethics in Global Bioethics2854225UNINA02685nam 2200625Ia 450 991082283220332120200520144314.0978661211648397812821164811282116487978144430866214443086619781444308679144430867X(CKB)1000000000767591(EBL)428185(OCoLC)651657297(SSID)ssj0000359789(PQKBManifestationID)11278970(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000359789(PQKBWorkID)10317782(PQKB)11250803(MiAaPQ)EBC428185(Au-PeEL)EBL428185(CaPaEBR)ebr10346174(CaONFJC)MIL211648(Perlego)2759560(EXLCZ)99100000000076759120081027d2009 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrEvidence-based clinical supervision principles and practice /Derek Milne1st ed.Malden, MA ;Chichester, West Sussex BPS Blackwellc20091 online resource (286 p.)Description based upon print version of record.9781405158497 1405158492 Includes bibliographical references and index.Evidence-Based ClinicalSupervision; Contents; Preface; 1 Recognising Supervision; 2 Understanding Supervision; 3 Reframing Supervision; 4 Relating in Supervision; 5 Applying Supervision; 6 Learning from Supervision; 7 Supporting Supervision; 8 Developing Supervision; 9 Concluding Supervision; References; IndexEvidence-Based Clinical Supervision critiques and summarises the best available psychological evidence relating to clinical supervision, clarifying the key principles, setting out the related practice guidelines and specifying the research and practice implications.A best-practice guide to clinical supervision, an approach used across psychotherapy and health services where professionals meet regularly with each other to discuss casework and training issuesSummarises the best available clinical evidence relating to clinical supervision, and relates this information to keMental health personnelSupervision ofMental health personnelSupervision of.616.89/023Milne Derek1949-933540MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910822832203321Evidence-based clinical supervision2101760UNINA
