A growth accounting analysis indicates that the erosion in output per capita over the sample period is due to the negative growth of both TFP and physical capital per capita. Sound macroeconomic policies, supported by official development assistance and structural reforms, are found to be key to raising TFP growth.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2006/208Industrial productivityNigerInvestments: GeneralimfLaborimfMacroeconomicsimfProduction and Operations ManagementimfNatural DisastersimfProductionimfCostimfCapital and Total Factor ProductivityimfCapacityimfInvestmentimfCapitalimfIntangible CapitalimfHuman CapitalimfSkillsimfOccupational ChoiceimfLabor ProductivityimfClimateimfNatural Disasters and Their ManagementimfGlobal WarmingimfMacroeconomics: ProductionimfLabourimfincome economicsimfNatural disastersimfTotal factor productivityimfCapital accumulationimfHuman capitalimfProduction growthimfIndustrial productivityimfSaving and investmentimfEconomic theoryimfNigerEconomic conditionsNigerimfIndustrial productivityInvestments: GeneralLaborMacroeconomicsProduction and Operations ManagementNatural DisastersProductionCostCapital and Total Factor ProductivityCapacityInvestmentCapitalIntangible CapitalHuman CapitalSkillsOccupational ChoiceLabor ProductivityClimateNatural Disasters and Their ManagementGlobal WarmingMacroeconomics: ProductionLabourincome economicsNatural disastersTotal factor productivityCapital accumulationHuman capitalProduction growthIndustrial productivitySaving and investmentEconomic theoryNachega Jean-Claude1601270Fontaine Thomson1657393International Monetary Fund.African Dept.DcWaIMFBOOK9910821804503321Economic Growth and Total Factor Productivity in Niger4010821UNINA
