Recent EU Initiatives on a European Mandate for Supervisors; ReferencesThe EU is deliberating the introduction of an explicit "European mandate" for financial sector supervisors to supplement national mandates. Suggestions are made on (i) the formulation of a European mandate; (ii) the policy areas to which it should apply; (iii) which institutions should be given a European mandate; (iv) the legal basis for the mandate; (v) how to implement the mandate in practice; and (vi) how to achieve accountability for fulfilling a European mandate. Decisions on these issues are needed if the introduction of a European mandate is to have a substantive positive effect.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2009/005Banks and bankingState supervisionBanks and bankingGovernment policyBanks and BankingimfFinance: GeneralimfFinancial Risk ManagementimfIndustries: Financial ServicesimfBusiness and FinancialimfInternational Relations and International Political Economy: OtherimfFinancial Institutions and Services: Government Policy and RegulationimfOther Economic Systems: International Trade, Finance, Investment and AidimfGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationimfFinancial Institutions and Services: GeneralimfBanksimfDepository InstitutionsimfMicro Finance InstitutionsimfMortgagesimfFinancial services law & regulationimfEconomic & financial crises & disastersimfFinanceimfBankingimfFinancial sectorimfFinancial regulation and supervisionimfDeposit insuranceimfFinancial sector stabilityimfEconomic sectorsimfFinancial sector policy and analysisimfFinancial crisesimfFinancial sector policyimfFinancial services industryimfLaw and legislationimfCrisis managementimfBanks and bankingimfNew ZealandimfBanks and bankingState supervision.Banks and bankingGovernment policy.Banks and BankingFinance: GeneralFinancial Risk ManagementIndustries: Financial ServicesBusiness and FinancialInternational Relations and International Political Economy: OtherFinancial Institutions and Services: Government Policy and RegulationOther Economic Systems: International Trade, Finance, Investment and AidGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationFinancial Institutions and Services: GeneralBanksDepository InstitutionsMicro Finance InstitutionsMortgagesFinancial services law & regulationEconomic & financial crises & disastersFinanceBankingFinancial sectorFinancial regulation and supervisionDeposit insuranceFinancial sector stabilityEconomic sectorsFinancial sector policy and analysisFinancial crisesFinancial sector policyFinancial services industryLaw and legislationCrisis managementBanks and banking379.158094DcWaIMFBOOK9910817535503321A European Mandate for Financial Sector Supervisors in the EU4016294UNINA
