It also highlights the remaining issues in this process. Progress has been made in the automation of operations and procedures, with constant and significant efforts to strengthen revenue collection and improve trade facilitation in a number of countries. However, the pace and scope of modernization remains insufficient, particularly in developing customs control and enforcement capacities, and enhancing operational resources and management. The findings suggest that the authorities’ strong commitment to reform, organizational and management changes, adequate technical assistance and project management, and effective implementation of modern customs standards, are critical to accelerate the modernization of customs in francophone sub-Saharan Africa.  .IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2012/259Customs administrationAfrica, Sub-SaharanTariffAfrica, Sub-SaharanExports and ImportsimfPublic FinanceimfTaxationimfTaxation and Subsidies: OtherimfComparative Studies of CountriesimfTrade PolicyimfInternational Trade OrganizationsimfTrade: GeneralimfSales tax, tariffs & customs dutiesimfInternational economicsimfPublic finance & taxationimfCustoms administration core functionsimfImportsimfExportsimfTariffsimfCustoms proceduresimfRevenue administrationimfInternational tradeimfTaxesimfCustoms administrationimfTariffimfBurkina FasoimfCustoms administrationTariffExports and ImportsPublic FinanceTaxationTaxation and Subsidies: OtherComparative Studies of CountriesTrade PolicyInternational Trade OrganizationsTrade: GeneralSales tax, tariffs & customs dutiesInternational economicsPublic finance & taxationCustoms administration core functionsImportsExportsTariffsCustoms proceduresRevenue administrationInternational tradeTaxesCustoms administrationTariff332.1;332.1/532Montagnat-Rentier Gilles1699052Parent Gilles1699053International Monetary Fund.DcWaIMFBOOK9910816173703321Customs Administration Reform and Modernization in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, 1995–20104081006UNINA
