CONCLUSIONS""; ""REFERENCES""; ""Data Appendix""We analyze the flexibility of the Canadian labor market across provinces in both an interand intra-national context using macroeconomic data on employment, unemployment, participation, and (for Canada) migration and real wages. We find that Canadian labor markets respond in a similar manner to their U.S. counterparts and are more flexible than those in major euro area countries. Within Canada, the results indicate that labor markets in Ontario and provinces further west are more flexible, particularly with regard to migration, while those further east are less so.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2006/083Labor marketCanadaManpower policyCanadaLaborimfEmigration and ImmigrationimfDemand and Supply of Labor: GeneralimfEmploymentimfUnemploymentimfWagesimfIntergenerational Income DistributionimfAggregate Human CapitalimfAggregate Labor ProductivityimfWages, Compensation, and Labor Costs: GeneralimfInternational MigrationimfLabourimfincome economicsimfMigration, immigration & emigrationimfLabor marketsimfReal wagesimfMigrationimfLabor market flexibilityimfLabor marketimfEconomic theoryimfEmigration and immigrationimfCanadaimfLabor marketManpower policyLaborEmigration and ImmigrationDemand and Supply of Labor: GeneralEmploymentUnemploymentWagesIntergenerational Income DistributionAggregate Human CapitalAggregate Labor ProductivityWages, Compensation, and Labor Costs: GeneralInternational MigrationLabourincome economicsMigration, immigration & emigrationLabor marketsReal wagesMigrationLabor market flexibilityLabor marketEconomic theoryEmigration and immigrationSutton Bennett1108577Bayoumi Tamim122763Swiston Andrew1598447International Monetary Fund.DcWaIMFBOOK9910809412703321Shocking Aspects of Canadian Labor Markets4127163UNINA
