Yet a closer look reveals young, educated Latino men who are going beyond machismo to a deeper understanding of women’s experiences and a commitment to ending gender oppression. This new Latino manhood is the subject of Beyond Machismo. Applying and expanding the concept of intersectionality developed by Chicana feminists, Aída Hurtado and Mrinal Sinha explain how the influences of race, class, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender shape Latinos’ views of manhood, masculinity, and gender issues in Latino communities and their acceptance or rejection of feminism. In particular, the authors show how encountering Chicana feminist writings in college, as well as witnessing the horrors of sexist oppression in the United States and Latin America, propels young Latino men to a feminist consciousness. By focusing on young, high-achieving Latinos, Beyond Machismo elucidates this social group’s internal diversity, thereby providing a more nuanced understanding of the processes by which Latino men can overcome structural obstacles, form coalitions across lines of difference, and contribute to movements for social justice.Chicana matters series.MenLatin AmericaIdentityMachismoLatin AmericaMasculinitySocial aspectsLatin AmericaMenLatin AmericaSocial conditionsMenLatin AmericaEconomic conditionsMenEducationLatin AmericaFeminismUnited StatesMexican American womenEthnic identityMenIdentity.MachismoMasculinitySocial aspectsMenSocial conditions.MenEconomic conditions.MenEducationFeminismMexican American womenEthnic identity.305.31098Hurtado Aída1585231Sinha MrinalMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910797951603321Beyond machismo3869661UNINA03718nam 22004935 450 991039274330332120251116172242.03-319-42124-710.1007/978-3-319-42124-7(CKB)3710000001127467(DE-He213)978-3-319-42124-7(MiAaPQ)EBC4833035(PPN)199769079(EXLCZ)99371000000112746720170329d2017 u| 0engurnn#008mamaatxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierAtlas of Implant Dentistry and Tooth-Preserving Surgery Prevention and Management of Complications /by Zoran Stajčić1st ed. 2017.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2017.1 online resource (XVIII, 334 p. 90 illus. in color.)3-319-42122-0 Includes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters.Etiology of Complications and Failures -- Common Measures and Obstacles Related to Dental Implant and Teeth Preserving Surgery -- Teeth Preserving Surgical Procedures Revisited: Apicoectomy -- Cystectomy -- Replantation and Transplantation of Teeth -- Periodontal Surgery -- Endo-Perio Surgery -- Mucogingival Surgery -- Vestibuloplasty -- Orthodontic Surgery -- Complications and Failures Related to Implant Dentistry – Etiology, Management and Prevention: Implant Related -- Non-Implant Related -- Explantation Techniques -- Prosthetic Complications -- Hints and Tips for Avoiding Complications: General Considerations -- Avoiding Dental Implant Complications -- Avoiding Teeth Preserving Surgery Complications. This atlas is unique in comparing the two disciplines of dental implant surgery and tooth-preserving surgery with respect to common procedures, problems, and failures and in providing excellent guidance on the prevention and management of complications. The etiology of a wide variety of implant-related and non-implant-related complications and failures is carefully explained. Since many complications have their roots in oral and periodontal surgical maneuvers, these maneuvers are themselves discussed and extensively illustrated. The most frequently used tooth preservation procedures are also fully described, with emphasis on correct surgical technique as a means to avoid complications. The use of these procedures is constantly weighed against the effects of tooth removal and insertion of dental implants. The text is complemented by the inclusion of a substantial number of helpful references. While the atlas is intended primarily for dentists involved in outpatient implant dentistry and oral surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgeons will also find the descriptions of innovative techniques or maneuvers to be of interest, including those relating to the selection of incision and flap design and the sinus floor elevation techniques.DentistryMouthSurgeryMaxillaSurgeryDentistryhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/D00009Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeryhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H59060Dentistry.MouthSurgery.MaxillaSurgery.Dentistry.Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.617.6Stajčić Zoranauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut0BOOK9910392743303321Atlas of Implant Dentistry and Tooth-Preserving Surgery1552272UNINA
