Conclusion --List of sentences --Bibliography --Source of linguistic data --IndexFrege’s puzzle concerning belief reports has been in the middle of the discussion on semantics and pragmatics of attitude reports: The intuition behind the opacity does not seem to be consistent with the thesis of semantic innocence according to which the semantic value of proper names is nothing but their referent. Main tasks of this book include providing truth-conditional content of belief reports. Especially, the focus is on semantic values of proper names. The key aim is to extend Crimmins’s basic idea of semantic pretense and the introduction of pleonastic entities proposed by Schiffer. They enable us to capture Frege’s puzzle in the analysis without giving up semantic innocence. To reach this conclusion, two issues are established. First, based on linguistic evidence, the frame of belief reports functions adverbially rather than relationally. Second, the belief ascriptions, on which each belief report is made, must be analyzed in terms of the measurement-theoretic analogy.Deutsche Hochschulschriften.Epistemische Studien ;Band 33.Propositional attitudesPragmaticsBelief.Epistemic Modal Logic.Frege.Puzzle.Propositional attitudes.Pragmatics.160Ueda Tomoo1005147MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910797645303321Telling what she thinks2310328UNINA02092oas 22007453a 450 991014580680332120250301213024.01713-5435(DE-599)ZDB2574958-4(OCoLC)1083162818(CONSER)cn2004301260(CKB)1000000000017370(EXLCZ)99100000000001737020041006b20042013 uy aengurcn|||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierThe journal of aboriginal healthOttawa National Aboriginal Health Organization2004-[2013]1 online resourceRefereed/Peer-reviewedArchived by Library and Archives Canada.Title from title screen (viewed on Aug. 2, 2004).1710-0712 Journal de la santé autochtoneJAHJ. aborig. healthIndigenous peoplesHealth and hygieneCanadaPeriodicalsIndigenous peoplesHealth and hygienefastCanadafasthttps://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PBJkMHVW4rfVXPrhVP4VwG3Periodicals.fastIndigenous peoplesHealth and hygieneIndigenous peoplesHealth and hygiene.362.1/089/97071cci1icclacccoll11lacccoll14lacccollissnlacccoll29lacccoll108laccNational Aboriginal Health Organization.NLCNLCOCLCOVT2OCLCQOCLCFOCLCSBTNHEBISLNDWYULVTSFBNLCLUUOCLCLORUNLCJOURNAL9910145806803321The journal of aboriginal health1936557UNINA
