The chemistry of air and it's influence on the climate system forms the main focus of this monograph. The book presents a problem-based approach to presenting global atmospheric processes, evaluating the effects of changing air composition as well as possibilities for interference within these processes and indicates ways for solving the problem of climate change through chemistry. The new edition includes innovations and latest research results.Atmospheric chemistryMeteorologyAir Pollution.Chemistry of Air.Climate Change.Atmospheric chemistry.Meteorology.551.51/1RB 10429rvkMöller Detlev1464306MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910788559103321Chemistry of the climate system3673887UNINA05809nam 2201189Ia 450 991079204600332120230803023637.01-299-33301-X1-4008-4627-710.1515/9781400846276(CKB)2560000000100781(EBL)1114885(OCoLC)830939053(SSID)ssj0000854603(PQKBManifestationID)12430849(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000854603(PQKBWorkID)10903715(PQKB)10766191(MiAaPQ)EBC1114885(StDuBDS)EDZ0001752751(MdBmJHUP)muse43224(DE-B1597)453916(OCoLC)979624323(DE-B1597)9781400846276(Au-PeEL)EBL1114885(CaPaEBR)ebr10674439(CaONFJC)MIL464551(EXLCZ)99256000000010078120121009d2013 uy 0engur|n|---|||||txtccrLooking for rights in all the wrong places[electronic resource] why state constitutions contain America's positive rights /Emily ZackinCore TextbookPrinceton, NJ Princeton University Pressc20131 online resource (251 p.)Princeton studies in American politics : historical, international, and comparative perspectivesDescription based upon print version of record.0-691-15577-1 0-691-15578-X Includes bibliographical references and index.Frontmatter --Contents --Acknowledgments --Chapter 1. Conclusion --Bibliography --Index --BackmatterUnlike many national constitutions, which contain explicit positive rights to such things as education, a living wage, and a healthful environment, the U.S. Bill of Rights appears to contain only a long list of prohibitions on government. American constitutional rights, we are often told, protect people only from an overbearing government, but give no explicit guarantees of governmental help. Looking for Rights in All the Wrong Places argues that we have fundamentally misunderstood the American rights tradition. The United States actually has a long history of enshrining positive rights in its constitutional law, but these rights have been overlooked simply because they are not in the federal Constitution. Emily Zackin shows how they instead have been included in America's state constitutions, in large part because state governments, not the federal government, have long been primarily responsible for crafting American social policy. Although state constitutions, seemingly mired in trivial detail, can look like pale imitations of their federal counterpart, they have been sites of serious debate, reflect national concerns, and enshrine choices about fundamental values. Zackin looks in depth at the history of education, labor, and environmental reform, explaining why America's activists targeted state constitutions in their struggles for government protection from the hazards of life under capitalism. Shedding much-needed light on the variety of reasons that activists pursued the creation of new state-level rights, Looking for Rights in All the Wrong Places challenges us to rethink our most basic assumptions about the American constitutional tradition.Princeton Studies in American Politics: Historical, International, and Comparative PerspectivesCivil rightsUnited StatesStatesConstitutional lawUnited StatesStatesCongress.U.S. Bill of Rights.U.S. Constitution.United States.activists.capitalism.common school movement.constitutional conventions.constitutional development.constitutional law.constitutional politics.constitutional rights.constitutionalism.constitutions.education rights.education.entrenchment theories.entrenchment.environmental activism.environmental activists.environmental health.environmental organizations.environmental protection.environmental rights.government intervention.higher lawmaking.judicialization.labor movement.labor regulation.labor rights.liberalism.litigation.negative rights.political movements.positive rights.rights movements.ski trails.social change.social movements.state constitutionalism.state constitutions.state governments.state legislatures.Civil rightsStates.Constitutional lawStates.342.7308/5Zackin Emily J.1980-1550489MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910792046003321Looking for rights in all the wrong places3809345UNINA01325nam0 22003011i 450 UON0051666820231211083353.654978-88-15-29486-920230804d2022 |0itac50 baitaIT|||| 1||||"Polonia restituta"Nazionalismo e riconquista della sovranità polaccaDaniele StasiBolognaIl Mulino2022310 p.22 cm001UON004818732001 Percorsi.
