Inflation Targeting and Financial Stability; FootnotesThis paper provides an overview of inflation targeting frameworks and macroeconomic performance under inflation targeting. Inflation targeting frameworks are generally quite similar across countries, and a broad consensus has developed in favor of "flexible" inflation targeting. The evidence shows that, although inflation target ranges are missed frequently in most countries, the inflation and growth performance under inflation targeting compares very favorably with performance under alternative frameworks. Inflation targeters also tentatively appear to be coping better with the commodity price and financial shocks in 2007-2009 than non-inflation targeters. Key issues going forward include adapting inflation targeting to emerging market and developing countries, and incorporating financial stability issues into the framework.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2009/236Inflation (Finance)Banks and banking, CentralMonetary policyFinance: GeneralimfInflationimfMacroeconomicsimfMoney and Monetary PolicyimfPrice LevelimfDeflationimfMonetary PolicyimfPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their DistributionsimfGeneral Financial Markets: General (includes Measurement and Data)imfMonetary economicsimfFinanceimfInflation targetingimfPersonal incomeimfPrice stabilizationimfEmerging and frontier financial marketsimfPricesimfMonetary policyimfIncomeimfGovernment policyimfFinancial services industryimfNew ZealandimfInflation (Finance)Banks and banking, Central.Monetary policy.Finance: GeneralInflationMacroeconomicsMoney and Monetary PolicyPrice LevelDeflationMonetary PolicyPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their DistributionsGeneral Financial Markets: General (includes Measurement and Data)Monetary economicsFinanceInflation targetingPersonal incomePrice stabilizationEmerging and frontier financial marketsPricesMonetary policyIncomeGovernment policyFinancial services industry339.4Roger Scott1497280International Monetary Fund.Monetary and Capital Markets Dept.DcWaIMFBOOK9910789101103321Inflation Targeting at 20 - Achievements and Challenges3808470UNINA
