This 80 percent participation rate reaffirms the importance countries place on data transparency in the globalized economy, which the initiatives promote. The wide participation can be attributed to the consultative process that has allowed for the development of a coherent program that takes account of countries' capabilities, delineates clear responsibilities between the IMF and participating countries, and establishes effective monitoring procedures to ensure the credibility of the standards for policymakers, capital markets, and the general public. The approach has also provided checks and balances and fostered accountability. The initiatives may provide insights for the promotion of similar international standards.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2006/102Disclosure of informationFinanceStatisticsStandardsEconomic indicatorsStandardsStatisticsimfData Transmission SystemsimfMethodology for Collecting, Estimating, and Organizing Macroeconomic DataimfData AccessimfData Collection and Data Estimation MethodologyimfComputer Programs: OtherimfData capture & analysisimfEconometrics & economic statisticsimfSpecial Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS)imfDissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB)imfFinancial statisticsimfData disseminationimfData transmission systemsimfDatabasesimfFinanceimfSingaporeimfDisclosure of information.FinanceStandards.Economic indicatorsStandards.StatisticsData Transmission SystemsMethodology for Collecting, Estimating, and Organizing Macroeconomic DataData AccessData Collection and Data Estimation MethodologyComputer Programs: OtherData capture & analysisEconometrics & economic statisticsSpecial Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS)Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board (DSBB)Financial statisticsData disseminationData transmission systemsDatabasesFinanceKester Anne1464154International Monetary Fund.Statistics Dept.DcWaIMFBOOK9910788700803321IMF Data Standards Initiatives3673716UNINA
