Panel (System GMM) regressions: The effect of developmental aid on growthWe analyze the growth impact of official development assistance to developing countries. Our approach is different from that of previous studies in two major ways. First, we disentangle the effects of two kinds of aid: developmental and non-developmental. Second, our specifications allow for the effect of aid on economic growth to occur over long periods. Our results indicate that developmental aid promotes long-run growth. The effect is significant, large and robust to different specifications and estimation techniques.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2009/118Economic assistanceDeveloping countriesEconomic developmentDeveloping countriesExports and ImportsimfMacroeconomicsimfForeign AidimfPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their DistributionsimfInternational economicsimfForeign aidimfBilateral aidimfAid flowsimfPersonal incomeimfDevelopment assistanceimfInternational reliefimfEconomic assistanceimfIncomeimfCongo, Democratic Republic of theimfEconomic assistanceEconomic developmentExports and ImportsMacroeconomicsForeign AidPersonal Income, Wealth, and Their DistributionsInternational economicsForeign aidBilateral aidAid flowsPersonal incomeDevelopment assistanceInternational reliefEconomic assistanceIncomeReddy Sanjay602369Minoiu Camelia874355International Monetary Fund.IMF Institute.DcWaIMFBOOK9910788333903321Development Aid and Economic Growth3685544UNINA
