Responses were received from 140 financial sector supervisors in 103 countries. A majority of these are separate stand-alone agencies, though, a majority of bank supervisors are part of a central bank. The survey asked respondents about their governance structure and practices, as well as practices and policies related to public transparency and accountability. Most agencies reported having operational independence. Bank supervisors were unique in viewing financial stability as part of their mandate.IMF Working Papers; Working Paper ;No. 2009/135Financial institutions, InternationalManagementCorporate governanceBanks and BankingimfInsuranceimfInvestments: GeneralimfIndustries: Financial ServicesimfBusiness and FinancialimfGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationimfFinancial Institutions and Services: GeneralimfBanksimfDepository InstitutionsimfMicro Finance InstitutionsimfMortgagesimfGeneral Financial Markets: General (includes Measurement and Data)imfInsurance CompaniesimfActuarial StudiesimfFinancial services law & regulationimfBankingimfInvestment & securitiesimfInsurance & actuarial studiesimfFinancial sectorimfFinancial regulation and supervisionimfSecuritiesimfFinancial services industryimfLaw and legislationimfBanks and bankingimfFinancial instrumentsimfFinancial institutions, InternationalManagement.Corporate governance.Banks and BankingInsuranceInvestments: GeneralIndustries: Financial ServicesBusiness and FinancialGeneral Financial Markets: Government Policy and RegulationFinancial Institutions and Services: GeneralBanksDepository InstitutionsMicro Finance InstitutionsMortgagesGeneral Financial Markets: General (includes Measurement and Data)Insurance CompaniesActuarial StudiesFinancial services law & regulationBankingInvestment & securitiesInsurance & actuarial studiesFinancial sectorFinancial regulation and supervisionSecuritiesFinancial services industryLaw and legislationBanks and bankingFinancial instrumentsNovoa Alicia1472665Seelig Steven114786DcWaIMFBOOK9910788332403321Governance Practices At Financial Regulatory and Supervisory Agencies3685529UNINA
