The IEA International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS), first conducted in 2009, was followed by a second cycle in 2016. The project was linked to the earlier IEA Civic Education Study (CIVED 1999, 2000). IEA’s ICCS remains the only large-scale international study dedicated to formal and informal civic and citizenship education in school. It continues to make substantial contributions to understanding the nature of the acquired civic knowledge, attitudes, and participatory skills. It also discusses in-depth how a wide range of countries prepare their young people for citizenship in changing political, social, and economic circumstances. The next cycle of ICCS is planned for 2022. In this book, more than 20 national representatives and international scholars from Europe, Latin America, Asia, and North America assess how the processes and findings of the 2009 and 2016 cycles of ICCS and CIVED 1999/2000 have been used to improve nations’ understanding of their students’ civic knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, current civic-related behaviors, and intentions for future participation in a comparative context. There are also chapters summarizing the secondary analysis of those studies’ results indicating their usefulness for educational improvement and reflecting on policy issues. The analyses and reflections in this book provide timely insight into international educational discourse, policy, practice, and research in an area of education that is becoming increasingly important for many societies.CivismethubEducació cívicathubCiutadaniathubLlibres electrònicsthubEducational Policy and PoliticsEducation, generalCitizenship EducationAssessment and TestingOpen AccessCitizenship education policiesImpact of large-scale studies in civic and citizenship educationChallenges for civic and citizenship educationMoral educationSocial interactions at schoolSocial media use for civic engagementAttitudes towards issues in societyCivic knowledge and understandingAttitudes toward immigrantsCross-curricular approachesPolitical socializationAdolescents’ socializationAgents of socializationIEA Civic Education Study (CIVED)IEA International Civic and Citizenship Study (ICCS)European civic educationCitizenship study and teachingPolitical participationLatin American civic educationEducational strategies & policyEducationCivismeEducació cívicaCiutadaniaMalak-Minkiewicz Barbara904520Torney-Purta Judith904521MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910482867503321Influences of the IEA Civic and Citizenship Education Studies2022483UNINA02015nam 2200637Ia 450 991078154020332120230725054306.01-84964-699-6(CKB)2550000000073758(SSID)ssj0000598857(PQKBManifestationID)11384981(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000598857(PQKBWorkID)10591362(PQKB)11170419(MiAaPQ)EBC3386564(Au-PeEL)EBL3386564(CaPaEBR)ebr10516078(CaONFJC)MIL987689(OCoLC)769190504(EXLCZ)99255000000007375820110823d2011 uy 0engurcn|||||||||txtccrCorporate complicity in Israel's occupation[electronic resource] evidence from the London session of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine /edited by Asa Winstanley and Frank Barat ; foreword by Alice WalkerLondon Pluto Press2011xix, 217 p. illBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph0-7453-3159-9 0-7453-3160-2 Includes bibliographical references and index.War (International law)War crimesWar crimesIsraelWar crimesPalestineArab-Israeli conflictWest BankInternational statusGaza StripInternational statusWar (International law)War crimes.War crimesWar crimesArab-Israeli conflict.341.6Winstanley Asa1478260Barat Frank1478261Russell Tribunal on Palestine.MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910781540203321Corporate complicity in Israel's occupation3693910UNINA
