The legislation directed the Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) to request the Institite of Medicine to perform a comprehensive evaluation of scientific and medical information regarding the health effects of exposure to Agent Orange and other herbicides used in Vietnam to be followed by biennial updates. The 2010 update recommends further research of links between Vietnam service and specific health outcomes, most importantly COPD, tonsil cancer, melanoma, brain cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and paternally transmitted effects to offspring."--Publisher's description.Agent Orange -- Health aspectsAgent Orange -- ToxicologyVietnam War, 1961-1975 -- Veterans -- Health risk assessment -- United StatesAgent OrangeHealth aspectsUnited StatesAgent OrangeToxicologyVietnam War, 1961-1975Health risk assessmentVeteransEnvironmental PollutionHeterocyclic Compounds, 1-RingHealthPesticidesHistory, 20th CenturyHistory, Modern 1601-Population CharacteristicsToxic ActionsPublic HealthAgrochemicalsHeterocyclic CompoundsSpecialty Uses of ChemicalsChemical Actions and UsesHistoryHealth CareEnvironment and Public HealthGeographyHumanitiesVeterans HealthEnvironmental ExposureHerbicidesVietnam ConflictDioxinsAsia, SoutheasternNorth AmericaAmericasAsiaUnited StatesVietnamAgent Orange -- Health aspects.Agent Orange -- Toxicology.Vietnam War, 1961-1975 -- Veterans -- Health risk assessment -- United States.Agent OrangeHealth aspectsAgent OrangeToxicologyVietnam War, 1961-1975Health risk assessmentVeteransEnvironmental PollutionHeterocyclic Compounds, 1-RingHealthPesticidesHistory, 20th CenturyHistory, Modern 1601-Population CharacteristicsToxic ActionsPublic HealthAgrochemicalsHeterocyclic CompoundsSpecialty Uses of ChemicalsChemical Actions and UsesHistoryHealth CareEnvironment and Public HealthGeographyHumanitiesVeterans HealthEnvironmental ExposureHerbicidesVietnam ConflictDioxins615.95137Update) Committee to Review the Health Effects in Vietnam Veterans of Exposure to Herbicides (Eighth Biennial1549994Medicine Institute of1536534Institute of Medicine (U.S.) Board on the Health of Select Populations,AU-PeELAU-PeELAU-PeELBOOK9910778938503321Veterans and Agent Orange3808448UNINA
