One --12 Concluding Remarks. Two --IndexIn the last twenty years scholarship on late antique and early medieval Ravenna has resulted in a certain number of publications mainly focused on the fields of architecture, mosaics and archaeology. On the contrary, much less attention has been paid on labour – both manual and intellectual – as well as the structure of production and objects derived from manufacturing activities, despite the fact that Ravenna is the place which preserves the highest number of historical evidence among all centres of the late Roman Mediterranean. Its cultural heritage is vast and composite, ranging from papyri to inscriptions, from ivories to marbles, as well as luxury objects, pottery, and coins. Starting from concrete typologies of hand-manufactured goods existing in the Ravennate milieu, the book aims at exploring the multifaceted traditions of late antique and early Byzantine handicraft from the fourth to the eighth century AD. Its perspective is to pay attention more on patronage, social taste, acculturation, workers and the economic industry of production which supported the demand, circulation and distribution of artefacts, than on the artistic evaluation of the objects themselves.ArchitectureRavenna (Exarchate)HandicraftRavenna (Exarchate)HistoryTo 1500Ravenna (Exarchate)Buildings, structures, etcRavenna.archaeology.craftsmanship.labour.ArchitectureHandicraftHistory945.01Cosentino SalvatoreMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910774786003321Ravenna and the traditions of late antique and early byzantine craftsmanship2566720UNINA03501nam 22006852 450 991080717740332120160505111258.01-107-22608-21-283-34095-X1-139-15989-597866133409551-139-03423-51-139-16089-31-139-15884-81-139-15533-41-139-15708-6(CKB)2550000000065689(EBL)807174(OCoLC)765126445(SSID)ssj0000554843(PQKBManifestationID)11361834(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000554843(PQKBWorkID)10516832(PQKB)10106975(UkCbUP)CR9781139034234(Au-PeEL)EBL807174(CaPaEBR)ebr10514141(CaONFJC)MIL334095(MiAaPQ)EBC807174(PPN)248672118(EXLCZ)99255000000006568920110225d2011|||| uy| 0engur|||||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierHandbook of X-ray astronomy /edited by Keith A. Kuntz --Appendices.Modern x-ray data, available through online archives, are important for many astronomical topics. However, using these data requires specialized techniques and software. Written for graduate students, professional astronomers and researchers who want to start working in this field, this book is a practical guide to x-ray astronomy. The handbook begins with x-ray optics, basic detector physics and CCDs, before focussing on data analysis. It introduces the reduction and calibration of x-ray data, scientific analysis, archives, statistical issues and the particular problems of highly extended sources. The book describes the main hardware used in x-ray astronomy, emphasizing the implications for data analysis. The concepts behind common x-ray astronomy data analysis software are explained. The appendices present reference material often required during data analysis.Cambridge observing handbooks for research astronomers ;7.X-ray astronomyX-ray astronomy.522/.6863SCI004000bisacshArnaud Keith A.1959-Smith Randall K(Randall Knowles),1969-Siemiginowska AnetaUkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910807177403321Handbook of X-ray astronomy4080311UNINA
