This volume analyzes the economic, social, and political challenges that emerging states confront today. Notwithstanding the growing importance of the ‘emerging states’ in global affairs and governance, many problems requiring immediate solutions have emerged at home largely as a consequence of the rapid economic development and associated sociopolitical changes. The middle-income trap is a major economic challenge faced by emerging states. This volume regards interest coordination for technological upgrading as crucial to avoid the trap and examines how various emerging states are grappling with this challenge by fostering public-private cooperation, voluntary associations of market players, and/or social networks. Social disparity is another serious problem. It is deeply rooted in history in the emerging states such as South Africa and many Latin American countries. However, income distribution is recently deteriorating even in East Asia that was once praised for its high economic growth with equity. Increasing pressure for political opening is another challenge for emerging states. This volume argues that the economic, social, and political problems are interwoven in the sense that the emerging states need to build political consensus in order to tackle the economic and social difficulties. Democratic institutions have not always been successful in this respect. Keiichi Tsunekawa is Visiting Professor of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) and Yasuyuki Todo is Professor of Economics, Waseda University.Emerging-Economy State and International Policy Studies,2524-5015Economic policyAsia—Economic conditionsDemocracyEconomic developmentSocial changeEconomic Policyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W34010R & D/Technology Policyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W43000Asian Economicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W45010Democracyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/911050Development Policyhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/913020Development and Social Changehttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/913030EconomicsManagement scienceEconomic policyAsia—Economic conditionsDemocracyEconomic developmentSocial changeEconomic policy.Asia—Economic conditions.Democracy.Economic development.Social change.Economic Policy.R & D/Technology Policy.Asian Economics.Democracy.Development Policy.Development and Social Change.338.9Tsunekawa Keiichi1948-,edt1246689Tsunekawa Keiichi1948-edthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtTodo Yasuyukiedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910350342703321Emerging States at Crossroads3403396UNINA03425nam 22006135 450 991076430080332120250808083528.03-031-44165-610.1007/978-3-031-44165-3(CKB)29092640800041(DE-He213)978-3-031-44165-3(MiAaPQ)EBC31016757(Au-PeEL)EBL31016757(OCoLC)1415894670(oapen)doab131963(EXLCZ)992909264080004120231117d2024 u| 0engur|||||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierSystem Lightweight Design for Aviation /by Martin Wiedemann1st ed. 2024.Cham :Springer Nature Switzerland :Imprint: Springer,2024.1 online resource (IX, 56 p. 33 illus.) Springer essentials,2731-31159783031441646 Motivation -- Classic lightweight design -- Lightweight system design with integration of passive functions -- Lightweight system design with integration of active functions -- Literature. This open access book presents technologies and methods of lightweight system design to support future low-emission aviation in achieving climate targets. It will be shown how reduction of weight and aerodynamic drag affects the energy consumption of commercial aircraft and what characterizes lightweight system design. Methods, design principles, production technologies and options for functional integration are available for more energy-efficient aircraft. Research results from the last decade are presented, which are intended to encourage the reader to further research and, above all, to implement them in future aircraft. The Author Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Wiedemann heads the DLR Institute of Lightweight Systems and helds a professorship for Adaptive Systems at the Technical University of Braunschweig. He combines his experience from 15 years in the aviation industry with his research expertise in the field of lightweight system design, acombination of lightweight composite structures and function integration. Martin Wiedemann is board member in the Cluster of Excellence "Sustainable and Energy Efficient Aviation - SE2A" at the Technical University of Braunschweig and board member in the German wind energy research association. He is co-leader of the DLR Alliance for Lightweight Production Technologies and member of the German CFRP Fuselage Forum, a DLR cooperation with Airbus.Springer essentials,2731-3115Aerospace engineeringAstronauticsMaterialsSustainabilityAerospace Technology and AstronauticsMaterials EngineeringSustainabilityAerospace engineering.Astronautics.Materials.Sustainability.Aerospace Technology and Astronautics.Materials Engineering.Sustainability.629.1Wiedemann Martinauthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut1272201MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910764300803321System Lightweight Design for Aviation3645652UNINA
