In the author's book series "The Art of Computer Programming", MMIX replaces the 1960s-style machine MIX. A particular goal in the design of MMIX was to keep its machine language simple, elegant, and easy to learn. At the same time, all of the complexities needed to achieve high performance in practice are taken into account. This book constitutes a collection of programs written in CWEB that make MMIX a virtual reality. Among other utilities, an assembler converting MMIX symbolic files to MMIX objects and two simulators executing the programs in given object files are provided. The latest version of all programs can be downloaded from MMIX's home page. The book provides a complete documentation of the MMIX computer and its assembly language. It also presents mini-indexes, which make the programs much easier to understand. A corrected reprint of the book has been published in August 2014, replacing the version of 1999.Lecture Notes in Computer Science,0302-9743 ;1750Computer architectureEvaluationComputer architectureEvaluation.004.22Knuth Donald Ervin1938-48274MiAaPQMiAaPQUtOrBLWBOOK996466366703316MMIXware2238291UNISA01439nam 2200421Ka 450 991069839570332120070817155000.0(CKB)4330000001761623(OCoLC)165216856(EXLCZ)99433000000176162320070817d2005 ua 0engtxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierAnalyses of wind energy impact on WFEC system operations[electronic resource] /Y. They asserted that the railway was founded to promote a sense of national identity, to provide access to isolated regions of the country, and to ensure a transnational exchange of goods and ideas. In The Philosophy of Railways, A.A. den Otter considers the relationship between nationalism and technology, and shows how the popular rhetoric surrounding the evolution of the Canadian Pacific Railway has mythologized the role of a private corporation and its technology. He questions the notion that the railways were built as an antidote to American manifest destiny, suggesting instead that the widespread adoption of railway transportation as a civilizing mission impelled Canadians to bow to technology's integrating effects, including confederation and closer ties with the United States."--Jacket.RailroadsCanadaHistoryBritisch-NordamerikagndCanadafastLivres numeriques.History.e-books.Electronic books.
