Pompeii's Ashes surveys a broad variety of such works, ranging from travelogues between ca. 1740 and 2010 to 250 years of fiction, including stage works, music, and films. The first two chapters provide an in-depth analysis of the excavation history and an overview of the reflections of travelers. The six remaining chapters discuss several clearly-defined genres: historical novels with pagan tendencies, and those with Christians and Jews as protagonists, contemporary adventures, time traveling, mock manuscripts, and works dedicated to Vesuvius. "Pompeii's Ashes" demonstrates how the eternal fascination with the oldest still-running archaeological projects in the world began, developed, and continue until now.HISTORY / Ancient / RomebisacshPompeii (Extinct city)In literatureHerculaneum (Extinct city)In literatureHISTORY / Ancient / Rome.809/.93358377256Moormann Eric M.207255MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK996234832903316Pompeii's ashes1568896UNISA02295nam 2200349 450 991068797320332120230702225624.0(CKB)5580000000514521(NjHacI)995580000000514521(EXLCZ)99558000000051452120230702d2022 uy 0engur|||||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierOptical Interferometry a multidisciplinary technique in science and engineering /edited by Mithun BhowmickLondon :IntechOpen,2022.1 online resource (110 pages)1-80355-704-4 1. With the most recent technologies available, along with an extremely well-connected community ready to employ them, the application domain has advanced into other, less explored areas of research. The aim of this book is to review recent developments in OI techniques and aid readers in their exploration of different aspects of the subject. The focus of the novel reports presented in this volume ranges from traditional topics to newer applications, such as those related to biology and clinical procedures. Although this collection of articles is by no means exhaustive, efforts have been made to provide examples and discussions from as many different areas of this wide-ranging subject as possible.InterferometryInterferometry.535.470287Bhowmick MithunNjHacINjHaclBOOK9910687973203321Optical Interferometry2087625UNINA
