This book argues that acquaintanceship is a topic worthy of investigation in its own right and assesses the overall significance of acquaintances in late modern society.Social interactionSocial networksElectronic books.Social interaction. In particular, the phase-field method has emerged as a powerful tool to describe the microstructure evolution on the mesoscopic length scale. In the present work, multiphase-field models are presented to numerically display the morphological evolution during the heat treatment of steel.Mechanical engineering & materialsbicsscPhasenfeldmethodeDualphasenstahlWärmebehandlungModellierungphase fielddual-phase steelmodelingheat treatmentMechanical engineering & materialsSchoof Ephraimauth1312886BOOK9910493737903321Chemomechanische Modellierung der Wärmebehandlung von Stählen mit der Phasenfeldmethode3031074UNINA04120nam 22006375 450 991067434530332120230810180937.09783031228995(electronic bk.)978303122898810.1007/978-3-031-22899-5(MiAaPQ)EBC7204231(Au-PeEL)EBL7204231(CKB)26161989000041(DE-He213)978-3-031-22899-5(EXLCZ)992616198900004120230220d2023 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierActors, Audiences, and Emotions in the Eighteenth Century Communities of Sentiment /by Glen McGillivray1st ed. 2023.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan,2023.1 online resource (231 pages)Palgrave Studies in the History of EmotionsPrint version: McGillivray, Glen Actors, Audiences, and Emotions in the Eighteenth Century Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2023 9783031228988 Includes bibliographical references and index.1. In this brilliant study, drawing on a wealth of source material, the emotional style which peaked in Sentimentalism is explained through a deep historical ethnography of the emotional practices of the age. Glen McGillivray attends to both actors’ and audiences’ performances of feeling, as well as the space in which they were executed, to provide a full picture of what was going on in early modern English theaters.’ -Monique Scheer, University of Tübingen, Germany This book offers an innovative account of how audiences and actors emotionally interacted in the English theatre during the middle decades of the eighteenth century, a period bookended by two of its stars: David Garrick and Sarah Siddons. Drawing upon recent scholarship on the history of emotions, it uses practice theory to challenge the view that emotional interactions between actors and audiences were governed by empathy. It carefully works through how actors communicated emotions through their voices, faces and gestures, how audiences appraised these performances, and mobilised and regulated their own emotional responses. Crucially, this book reveals how theatre spaces mediated the emotional practices of audiences and actors alike. It examines how their public and frequently political interactions were enabled by these spaces. Glen McGillivray is Associate Professor in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia. He was an associate investigator with the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions, and his research focuses on the intersection between emotions and performance.Palgrave Studies in the History of EmotionsGreat BritainHistoryCivilizationHistorySocial historyTheaterHistoryHistory of Britain and IrelandCultural HistorySocial HistoryTheatre HistoryGreat BritainHistory.CivilizationHistory.Social history.TheaterHistory.History of Britain and Ireland.Cultural History.Social History.Theatre History.792.01792.094109033McGillivray Glen1338137MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQ9910674345303321Actors, Audiences, and Emotions in the Eighteenth Century3057943UNINA05255nam 22006015 450 991033825020332120200701172526.010.1007/978-3-030-14244-5(CKB)4100000008525424(DE-He213)978-3-030-14244-5(MiAaPQ)EBC5802489(PPN)269147616(EXLCZ)99410000000852542420190628d2019 u| 0engurnn|008mamaatxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierAdvanced Finite Element Methods with Applications Selected Papers from the 30th Chemnitz Finite Element Symposium 2017 /edited by Thomas Apel, Ulrich Langer, Arnd Meyer, Olaf Steinbach1st ed. 2019.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2019.1 online resource (XXII, 428 p. 103 illus., 76 illus. in color.) This book features overview papers and original research articles from participants of the 30th Chemnitz Finite Element Symposium, which itself has a 40-year history. Covering topics including numerical methods for equations with fractional partial derivatives; isogeometric analysis and other novel discretization methods, like space-time finite elements and boundary elements; analysis of a posteriori error estimates and adaptive methods; enhancement of efficient solvers of the resulting systems of equations, discretization methods for partial differential equations on surfaces; and methods adapted to applications in solid and fluid mechanics, it offers readers insights into the latest results.Lecture Notes in Computational Science and Engineering,1439-7358 ;128Computer scienceMathematicsMathematical physicsApplied mathematicsEngineering mathematicsComputational Mathematics and Numerical Analysishttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/M1400XTheoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physicshttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P19005Mathematical and Computational Engineeringhttps://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/T11006Computer scienceMathematics.Mathematical physics.Applied mathematics.Engineering mathematics.Computational Mathematics and Numerical Analysis.Theoretical, Mathematical and Computational Physics.Mathematical and Computational Engineering.518629.108Apel Thomasedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtLanger Ulrichedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtMeyer Arndedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtSteinbach Olafedthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtBOOK9910338250203321Advanced Finite Element Methods with Applications1668111UNINA
