This book also includes masterful translations of both Wang Yinglin's (1551-1602) hallowed Confucian Three Character Classic and Aleni's Chinese catechism that was published during the Qing (1644-1911). Clark's careful reading of the Four Character Classic provides new insights into an area of the Jesuit mission in early modern China that has so far been given little attention, the education of children. This book underscores how Aleni's published work functions as a good example of the Jesuit use of normative Chinese print culture to serve the catechetical exigencies of the Catholic mission in East Asia, particularly his meticulous imitation of Confucian children's primers to promote decidedly Christian content.Christianity in Modern China,2730-7883ChristianityReligionHistoryInternational relationsChildren's literatureReligion and cultureReligionChristianityHistory of ReligionInternational RelationsChildren's LiteratureCross-cultural StudiesConfucianismChristianity.ReligionHistory.International relations.Children's literature.Religion and culture.Religion.Christianity.History of Religion.International Relations.Children's Literature.Cross-cultural Studies.Confucianism.905Clark Anthony E.884770MiAaPQMiAaPQMiAaPQBOOK9910483820603321A chinese jesuit catechism2572213UNINA01387nam0 22003011i 450 UON0003191220231205102105.5020020107d1968 |0itac50 baitaBE|||| 1||||Alla scoperta delle civiltà dell'Iran anticouna iniziativa belga di cooperazione alla conoscenza del patrimonio storico iranianodel Prof. Vanden BergheBruxellesMinistero degli Affari Esteri e del Commercio con l'estero196870 p., [5] c. di tav.21 cm001UON000319112001 Testi e documenti33-34Archeologia IranUONC002106FIBEBruxellesUONL000128IR XIRAN ANTICO - ARCHEOLOGIAAVANDEN BERGHELouisUONV000114194207ITSOL20250328RICASIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOUONSIUON00031912SIBA - SISTEMA BIBLIOTECARIO DI ATENEOSI MISC IR X 011 SI SA 1110 5 011 ARCHEOLOGIA E ARTE - IRAN - BIBLIOGRAFIAArcheologia - IranUONC006912ARGENTI - IRANArcheologia - IranUONC006395ARTE - IRANArcheologia - IranUONC003520Alla scoperta delle civiltà dell'Iran antico1189895UNIOR
