Cities have always been pictured, in many media and for many different purposes. This edited collection explores how that picturing is changing in an era of digital visual culture. Analogue visual technologies like film cameras were understood as creating some sort of a trace of the real city. Digital visual technologies, in contrast, harvest and process digital data to create images that are constantly refreshed, modified and circulated. Each of the chapters in this volume examines a different example of this processual visuality is reconfiguring the spatial and temporal organisation of urban life.Cities and Cultures City and town lifeDigital imagesPublic spacesSOCIAL SCIENCE / Sociology / Urbanbisacshurban, digital, visual, technology.City and town life.Digital images.Public spaces.SOCIAL SCIENCE / Sociology / Urban.307.76Aiello Giorgia, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDatta Ayona, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDegen Monica, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDuru Asli, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbHind Sam, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbKrajina Zlatan, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbMcKim Joel, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbRodgers Scott, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbRose Gillian, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbRose Gillian, edthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtWard Isobel, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDE-B1597DE-B1597BOOK9910566455303321Seeing the City Digitally2855310UNINA
