The complex nature of material and energy systems and the changing of economic and technological conditions differ among countries and, therefore, lead to the application of vastly different practices in developed and rapidly developing countries of the world. A wide variety of theoretical approaches can be used to facilitate a shift from the linear use of resources to circular systems, e.g., circular product planning, life cycle planning, sharing and platform economy, refurbishing, and remanufacturing, to name but a few. The introduction and examination of circular solutions can be based on theoretical models in order to guarantee ensure successful application. Successful application of innovative technology approaches, business solutions, and organizational development can be facilitated through theoretical models and new scientific results that support innovation processes. This Special Issue reprint focuses on sustainable and innovative methods which help and enable the proper use and recovery of resources. We present a collection of research papers, reviews, research reports, and case studies that introduce or discuss circular solutions for the sustainable use of resources.Circular Use of Resources Economics, Finance, Business and Managementbicsscbike-sharingbiomass utilisationBusiness Model Canvasbusiness sustainability movementscar-sharingCar2Gocarbon cyclecircular economycircular solutionclosed-loop recyclingCO2 emissionconsumer attitudesconsumer behaviordisposable paper diaperDriveNoweconomies of scaleenvironmental assessmentenvironmental burdenfixed bed pyrolysisfood wasteGreenGohuman economicsJapanLCAlife cyclelife cycle assessment (LCA)local foodmaterial recyclingMOL LIMOoxidation-reduction zonepaper productionproducersproduct lifecyclerecyclereduction of tar in gasservice-based economyshared officesharing economyshort supply chainshort supply chainssustainabilitysustainable developmentthe significance of biomass particle sizewater consumptionwater footprintEconomics, Finance, Business and ManagementPopp József H.cedt1299051Csaba FogarassyedtFinger David ChristianedtPopp József H.cothCsaba FogarassyothFinger David ChristianothBOOK9910557734403321Circular Use of Resources3025004UNINA05965nam 22006615 450 991062438160332120251113182041.09783031201769303120176010.1007/978-3-031-20176-9(MiAaPQ)EBC7127600(Au-PeEL)EBL7127600(CKB)25219375400041(DE-He213)978-3-031-20176-9(PPN)265856078(EXLCZ)992521937540004120221028d2022 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierSwarm Intelligence 13th International Conference, ANTS 2022, Málaga, Spain, November 2–4, 2022, Proceedings /edited by Marco Dorigo, Heiko Hamann, Manuel López-Ibáñez, José García-Nieto, Andries Engelbrecht, Carlo Pinciroli, Volker Strobel, Christian Camacho-Villalón1st ed. 2022.Cham :Springer International Publishing :Imprint: Springer,2022.1 online resource (393 pages)Lecture Notes in Computer Science,1611-3349 ;13491Includes index.Print version: Dorigo, Marco Swarm Intelligence Cham : Springer International Publishing AG,c2022 9783031201752 A Geometry-Sensitive Quorum Sensing Algorithm for the Best-of-N Site Selection Problem -- An Approach Based on Particle Swarm Optimization for Inspection of Spacecraft Hulls by a Swarm of Miniaturized Robots -- Automatic Design of Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimizers -- Automatic Extraction of Understandable Controllers from Video Observations of Swarm Behaviors -- Benchmarking Performances of Collective Decision-making Strategies with Respect to Communication Bandwidths in Discrete Collective Estimation -- Best-of-N Collective Decisions on a Hierarchy -- Collective Decision-making for Conflict Resolution in Multi-Agent Pathfinding -- Controlling Robot Swarm Aggregation through a Minority of Informed Robots -- Decentralized Multi-Agent Path Finding in Warehouse Environments for Fleets of Mobile Robots with Limited Communication Range -- Decomposition and Merging Co-operative Particle Swarm Optimization with Random Grouping -- Dynamic Spatial Guided Multi-Guide Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Many-Objective Optimization -- Extracting Symbolic Models of Collective Behaviors with Graph Neural Networks and Macro-Micro Evolution -- Learning Resilient Swarm Behaviors via Ongoing Evolution -- Mind the Gap!
