Hussein Kamil.During the 2003 war that ended Saddam Hussein's regime, coalition forces captured thousands of hours of secret recordings of meetings, phone calls and conferences. Originally prepared by the Institute for Defense Analyses for the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, this study presents annotated transcripts of Iraqi audio recordings of meetings between Saddam Hussein and his inner circle. The Saddam Tapes, along with the much larger digital collection of captured records at the National Defense University's Conflict Records Research Center, will provide researchers with important insights into the inner workings of the regime and, it is hoped, the nature of authoritarian regimes more generally. The collection has implications for a range of historical questions. How did Saddam react to the pressures of his wars? How did he manage the Machiavellian world he created? How did he react to the signals and actions of the international community on matters of war and peace? Was there a difference between the public and the private Saddam on critical matters of state? A close examination of this material in the context of events and other available evidence will address these and other questions.AuthoritarianismIraqHistory20th centurySourcesIraqPolitics and government1979-1991SourcesIraqPolitics and government1991-2003SourcesAuthoritarianismHistory956.7044092POL010000bisacshWoods Kevin M.1111527Palkki David D.1974-Stout Mark1964-UkCbUPUkCbUPBOOK9910778953303321The Saddam tapes3745249UNINA02650nas 2200709-a 450 99633649090331620240413012206.0(CKB)954921404225(CONSER)---85643929-(EXLCZ)9995492140422519850821b19851988 --- aengtxtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierAdministrative managementNew York, N.Y. Rapid advances in genomic profiling techniques such as microarrays or high-performance sequencing have brought new opportunities and challenges in the fields of computational biology and bioinformatics. Such genetic sequencing techniques allow large amounts of data to be produced, whose analysis and cross-integration could provide a complete view of organisms. As a result, it is necessary to develop new techniques and algorithms that carry out an analysis of these data with reliability and efficiency. This Special Issue collected the latest advances in the field of computational methods for the analysis of gene expression data, and, in particular, the modeling of biological processes. Here we present eleven works selected to be published in this Special Issue due to their interest, quality, and originality.Biology, life sciencesbicsscResearch & information: generalbicsscbinding sitesbioinformaticsbioinformatics analysisCAMTA1cancerCBFchilling stressChou's 5-steps rulechromatin interactionsclassificationclusteringcomputational biologycomputational intelligenceConvolution Neural Network (CNN)CRISPR-Cas9data miningdeep learningdifferential genes expressiondifferentiationDNA methylationDNA N6-methyladenineDREBensembleseQTLexercisefine-mappinggene co-expression networkGene Ontologygene-set enrichmentgenome architecturegenomicshepatocellular carcinomaHIGD2Ahigh-fat diethypoxiaimmune responseinfiltrationinfiltration tactics optimization algorithmLong Short-Term Memory (LSTM)machine learningmachine-learningmeta-analysismethylationmicroarraymiRNAmRNA expressionmurine coronavirusn/aobesitypathwaypathwayspotential therapeutic targetspowerpredictionproteomicsquercetinReactome PathwaysRNA N6-methyladenosine sitesingle-cell clonesystems biologytext miningtranscription factortranscriptomicsviral infectionyeast genomeBiology, life sciencesResearch & information: generalGómez Vela Francisco Aedt0Divina FedericoedtGarcía-Torres MigueledtGómez Vela Francisco AothDivina FedericoothGarcía-Torres MiguelothBOOK9910557129603321Computational Methods for the Analysis of Genomic Data and Biological Processes3034921UNINA
