It presents empirical findings on the challenges and opportunities faced by young women and men in their efforts to build more peaceful, inclusive, and environmentally secure societies. The chapters included in this edited volume examine the diversity and complexity of young people’s engagement for peace and security in different countries across the globe and in different types and phases of conflict and violence, including both conflict-affected and relatively peaceful societies. Chapter contributors, young peacebuilders, and seasoned scholars and practitioners alike propose ways to support youth’s agency and facilitate their meaningful participation in decision-making. The chapters are organized around five broad thematic issues that correspond to the 5 Pillars of Action identified by UN Security Council Resolution 2250. Lessons learned are intended to inform the global youth, peace, and security agenda so that it better responds to on-the-ground realities, hence promoting more sustainable and inclusive approaches to long-lasting peace.Youth and peaceYouth in peace-buildingPOLITICAL SCIENCE / Generalbisacshpeace, youth, young people, national security, violent conflict, conflict, United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250, United Nations, UN, 2015, human security, environmentally secure.Youth and peace.Youth in peace-building.POLITICAL SCIENCE / General.327.1/720835Altiok Ali1223713Atuhaire Grace1223714Bishop Victoria1223715Budur Diana1223716Izzi Valeria1223717Khalid Nasrat1223718Klugman Jeni1223719MacNeil Carole1223720Moore Matthew1223721Onyango Willice1223722Altiok Ali, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbAtuhaire Grace, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbBishop Victoria R., ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbBudur Diana, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbEnsor Marisa O., ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbEnsor Marisa O., edthttp://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edtIzzi Valeria, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbKhalid Nasrat, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbKlugman Jeni, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbMacNeil Carole, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbMoore Matthew, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbOnyango Willice, ctbhttps://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctbDE-B1597DE-B1597BOOK9910554278003321Securitizing Youth2839620UNINA01531nam a2200325 i 450099100364436970753620021219124521.0020829s1992 it b 00 0 ita d8838791937b11842362-39ule_instLE02737221ExLDip.to Studi Giuridiciita342.29Gambino, Silvio121465L'organizzazione del governo locale :esperienze a confronto (Italia, Spagna, R.F.T., Gran Bretagna, Francia, Austria, U.S.A.) /a cura di S.
