However, certain applications, for example research of spatial hearing or hearing attention, require an physically exact and realistic binaural signal. The limiting factor that prohibits the widespread use of individual HRTFs is the acquisition time of such data. This time requirement has recently been reduced by the use of parallelization in the measurement signal which lead to the development of fast measurement systems capable of acquiring individual and spatially dense HRTF. This thesis provides a objective and subjective evaluation of such a system that is designed with the goal of little disturbance of the measurements in mind. The construction is detailed, followed by both an objective and subjective evaluation. A detailed investigation into additional distortion of the sound field introduced by the system itself is presented and it is shown that the system performs comparably to a conventional system in terms of sound source localization. Furthermore, a method is introduced and evaluated to further reduce the measurement time by using continuous rotation during the measurement. This method is used to reduced the measurement duration from eight minutes to three minutes without audible differences.TechnologyAkustikHRTFMesstechnikBinauraltechnikPsychoakustikTechnology.621.3828019Richter Jan-Gerrit905403Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen,UkMaJRU9910418317903321Fast measurement of individual head-related transfer functions2025068UNINA04852nam 22006975 450 991052008000332120240509011305.09783030890629303089062710.1007/978-3-030-89062-9(MiAaPQ)EBC6852333(Au-PeEL)EBL6852333(CKB)20667500700041(OCoLC)1298447043(BIP)081554184(DE-He213)978-3-030-89062-9(EXLCZ)992066750070004120220111d2021 u| 0engurcnu||||||||txtrdacontentcrdamediacrrdacarrierAnti-Proverbs in Five Languages Structural Features and Verbal Humor Devices /by Anna T. A valuable resource for anyone interested in verbal humor and the human potential for linguistic play." -Zoltán Kövecses, Professor Emeritus, Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary, author of Extended Conceptual Metaphor Theory (2020) "The authors provide their readers with a kaleidoscope of proverb alterations, punning, and different devices of verbal humour, leading them skillfully into a better understanding not only of the nature and quality of anti-proverbs, but how a given language community's worldview and attitude towards certain issues, norms and values change over time." -Melita Aleksa Varga, Associate Professor, University of Osijek, Croatia This book is the first comparative study of English, German, French, Russian, and Hungarian anti-proverbs based on well-known proverbs. Proverbsare by no means fossilized texts but are adaptable to different times and changed values. While anti-proverbs can be considered as variants of older proverbs, they can also become new proverbs reflecting a more modern worldview. Anti-proverbs are therefore a lingo-cultural phenomenon that deserves the attention of cultural and literary historians, folklorists, linguists, and general readers interested in language and wordplay. Anna T. Litovkina is Associate Professor at J. Selye University, Slovakia. She is a linguist, a folklorist, and a humour researcher. Hrisztalina Hrisztova-Gotthardt is Chief Quality Officer at the Swiss agency "French, Italian and German in Switzerland". Her research interests lie in the field of applied linguistics. Péter Barta is Associate Professor at Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary. He is a linguist and a paremiologist. Katalin Vargha is a research fellow in the Institute of Ethnology at the Research Centre for the Humanities, Hungary. Her research interests include short forms of folklore and humor.
